Are you ready to head to the Wall of Maria? Hark revenge for the demise of your mother against angry beasts? Soar through the skies and cities to take down... Titans. Yes, with several delays prior; Attack on Titan: The Last Stand is now available from Japanime Games, and players must prep the Survey Corps, Garrison and Military police to defend the city from carnivorous peril. Or become the mammoth carnivore yourself...
Attack on Titan: The Last Stand // Japanime Games
Based on the famous anime, Attack on Titan, players can take on the role of their favourite characters, as 2-5 players get their heads together to save the city from the titan. However, this asymmetric game may require players to work cooperatively, but there is a competitive aspect too - as one of the players can cause chaos by taking the role of the Titan, doing the adverse effect to what players would like to achieve - destroying the last human city and squishing faith in humanity.
Attack on Titan: The Last Stand // Japanime Games
There are four different titan roles that can be chosen along with eight different heroes to take them down with. All with individual play-styles and abilities depending on the character, and creating a different experience each time the game is played depending on the titan in play.
Utilising action cards, the Titan will be a tough opponent to take down, so players will need to cooperate to ensure they win the game. The Titan role has its own goal throughout the game, and players taking on the villain will need their own strategy in place to avoid the do-gooders! Players will need to attack, defend by playing cards and revealing through dice. Meaning the strategy that players want to implement will be heard and seen by the titan player... if they are not stealthy enough!

Players will have healthy hearts to keep an eye on, and will want to take down the behemoth! Landing a good ol neck-clash or eradication will see the heroes fit to win. But if all players lose their hearts, and their line of defence of cannons become destroyed: the Titan will become the champion of the game.
The game looks like a lot of fun, and if you are a fan of the show, the game certainly resonates the themes that follow throughout - and is the perfect opportunity for fans like myself to be able to take down a titan... even if it is on the tabletop!
Who would you play as, the heroes or the titan?

Ooh Giant slaying just call me Jack.
I don’t know….
I love the anime. Not a huge anime fan, but that’s one of the few I religiously follow.
The art is as good as can be expected, true to the series, but the tower and the titan look… cheap.
Feels like an 80’s family game and the series is definitly not for the whole family.
The presentation of this game just feels off, and that’s a big thing for me.
Wonder how it plays, though.
As AoT fan I did get chuckle out of that name because I know what direction story ended up taking compared to early and middle parts that this game is based on.
I must be confused. I could have sworn I bought this game already a couple of years ago. I mean, I’m looking right at it. Did it just switch publishers?
