Happy weekend all!
At last … Happy Weekend. ..
happy weekend and all that
It the weekend we made it!
It’s the (****ing) Weekend!! I don’t need to wake up at 6am like the rest of the week. But if I do, I expect to find my Weekender ready to keep me occupied! 😉
BattleSystems KS funded in 10 minutes…already knocked down a few SGs after £56k (checkout the Airlock doors!) Goingvto ve a few more knocked down today…
Just to point out about Angel Giraldez II – the pre-order mini is available if you pre-order through your FLGS too! (Want to keep it friendly, keep it local, keep it live? Then keep your FLGS alive!)
you’re so lucky to have a FLGS, none in my country. It will be very annoying come next year when FoW 4th ed comes out, can’t pick up a free copy. #3rdworldiscloserthanyouthink
😉
You are already in retail so …. 😉
Thank you very much BoW!!! There I was thinking “the Edge? maybe I xan skip this one?”…. But then you go and show us the Reborn.
So Christmas lists? i guess you can pick something being released in time for this year’s and a KS for the next ( or maybe the year after depending on how late it delivers 😉 )
If I had that mega paint set would that mean I would actually have to paint all my stuff?
The Battlesystems stuff is great. I got a shanty town in the last KS and couldn’t be happier. Not only is the product great, but the KS was amazingly well run.
Happy Weekend all!
The paint set looks superb but I still have my doubts about the dropper bottles! When I brought dropper bottled paint in the past no matter how much shaking I did, the first few drops were always watery, then later much too thick! So I have always reverted back to jar style paints where you can easily stir them. Have Army Painter sorted or at least minimised this with their paint formula?
Did you try adding a small ballbearing to act as an agitator?
I also think they benefit from being kept upright between uses so the nozzle doesn’t clog so much. A good shake and they’re ready..have got a mix of makes (inc GW) bought around the same time, and the droppers are all fine.
I would go with this, there are a few companies that sell glass beads or stainless steel ones for using in your paints, be careful buying cheaper ball bearings as no one wants rusty paint 😉
Yeah did that but no success. In the end I just emptied the entire contents into empty Citadel jars. Think the experience just put me off using anything in a dropper bottle!
I found the best agitator for dropper bottles are zinc washer nuts. The edges and corners help to scrape pigment off the sides and bottom of the bottle. I’ve put them in all of my warpaints and found that I need only a few seconds of shaking before use and then come out creamy smooth.
I heard that so steel balls react with the primer from vallejo. If I remember correctly it was in one of the videos off doctor faust’s painting clinics video’s (sidenote great videos to watch). I myself use glass balls and have had no problems yet.
would love that limited paint set, but yeah, that’s probably overkill.
Happy Weekend!!
Adding a ball bearing is a novel idea! I’ll give that a try and see how much longer the eye droppers last. I think they are much more convenient than the jar style ones.
Battle Systems has done a great job in improving their terrain through their past Kickstarters. The original sci-fi is still a great set, but a little fiddly in places. I passed on the dungeon terrain but pledged for the urban set and it is much improved for assembly.
Now with the sci-fi 2, I think I’m leaning towards the Galactic Core. The clean look of it is great and an obvious fit for Infinity.
It’s good to see the AP range expanding
Two amazing prizes again …!
BOW should have a show dedicated to the pronunciation of obscure names and terminology… ancient history from all over the world is well peppered with candidates.
Roman artillery – (as seen in the battle at the start of Gladiator)

John might like these as he is into his reenactments (with tanks):

Vercingetorix – Wer-kin-getorix
Caesarian – Kai-sarian.
I’m not really into sci-fi but I’m backing this battle systems Kickstarter as I love their previous stuff. And because I’m backing this, I ended up backing star saga, which I had no interest in until I seen the battle systems sci-fi terrain. My poor wallet. 🙁
I think Warren’s case for clear bases is made seeing those minis on the Battle Systems terrain.
A normal base just breaks the illusion of interaction with the environment. Great show , two kickstarters to consider , Battle Systems and The Edge. Cheers
The Army Painter new colors look great.
As to The Edge: Does Ben like the Reborn because of the nature theme or is it the half naked women? And I’d swear some of those Terror cultists from the Demon faction look a lot like some of the baddies in Grizzleheim in Wizard101. Are there plans for different battle boards/maps? Otherwise it seems that it would get kind of boring after a few battles. The figures look great though.
Little bit of both?
My problem with the eye dropper style of bottles is not so much the paint drying out but rather the tip plugging up and having to routed out every so often.
Happy weekend all! Great show this weekend and those prizes look great!
Have I heard paints? I like paints?
oooooooooohhhhhhhh loads of paint …..throne room could do with a splash of colour before next issue of re-roll …..will buy new six inch brush ready in case i win 🙂
I love the battle system terrain, I have to get to work on my dungeon. The Army Painter sets are beautiful but I understand about having to many paints and not needing even half of them. (I purchased a heap of of ebay, in very good nick. But I havent really got use out of the vast majority so they are slowly drying up. Can only shack so many bottles before carpal tunnel syndrome sets in. lol)
Happy weekender.
Justin just remember to keep stroking your butter nut squash to prevent it shrivilling up.
Happy weekend!
The Battle Systems kit looks spectacular would be excellent for 40K Kill-team, also made me think of Stargate, especially if combined with Battle Systems Fantasy terrain.
The Edge, the minis look spectacular especially the Rha-Zack Cyborg/Robot Angels, what’s no to love, the resource mechanic with the crystals looks real interesting, the game has a lot of potential for Cinematic moments.
Awesome show guys 😀
@firearchon I hadn’t even considered Killteam, good call on that
