Monolith Games are back on Kickstarter with not just a new Season 3 Expansion for the Batman: Gotham City Chronicles board game, but with an RPG title too, set within the Batman: Gotham City Chronicles universe.

Whether you are ready to suit up in third or first-person - Monolith have you covered as part of their Kickstarter. The new season of Batman™: Gotham City Chronicles board game has begun, bringing new playstyles and mechanics to boast some heroic and villainous deeds - with an additional solo and cooperative mode. Providing a whole new lease of life for the previous two seasons, as a chance to play through as an overarching campaign.

Also included in the new season, players will find access to all new content as well as the chance at replaying some of the old. The new expansion will be titled Gotham City In Flames which will come with a series of miniatures Cassandra Cain, Jace Fox, Ghostmaker, and Red Hood and 11 scenarios, a booklet expansion; A New Eden, The Batcomputer Files, Anarky Miniature and Tile expansion alongside the new mechanics of play.

In addition to the newest season, the roleplaying title will place players in the sets of their favourite characters within the fearsome city of Gotham. Whether you want to become a new hero, take inspiration from a previous villain, or take the role as a preexisting character using a tweaked version of the d20 system. Players can follow whatever path their imagination takes them; whether they want to take up a job as an officer or dedicate themselves to a life of crime - be warned of the big bad bat!

If you wanted to get your hands on the original Batman™: Gotham City Chronicles board game as part of the campaign too, you sure can do so. There is a board game all-in pledge that will see you fit with over 150 miniatures and your passport into hero vs villain action Gotham.

and they’re finally fixing that god awful manual …
I’m not a fan of the rules they’ve chosen for the RPG side of things.
It’s a D&D clone (technically D20 … so 3rd-ish edition D&D) and the mechanics feel too heavy/complex for a comicbook superhero style game.
