The Basilisk Takes Shape For Mythic Battles: Pantheon
December 27, 2016 by brennon
Avert your eyes as the Basilisk takes shape for Mythic Battles: Pantheon. This was one of the creatures that was never quite finished before the end of the Kickstarter but here you go...
This is still in the render stage, worked on by Arnaud Boudoiron, and it's already looking menacing. The Basilisk is a very interesting enemy and it will be fun seeing how it's used on the tabletop.
I feel like this creature needs a nice coat of black paint for its scales and then a deep red underbelly to give it a dangerous look. Maybe you could even get in some off-yellow in there too to give you some stark contrasts?
What do you think of the Basilisk so far?

Looking good ( i backed MB:P, they are all quite lovely sculpts ). But, i hear Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets wants its Basilisk back 😉 😀 .
that is a great, great snake.
Gee, they do nice minis.
That is turning out really good.
I cannot wait for Mythic Battles to ship. I watched all the lets play you guys did and it looked so much fun. The beautiful sculptures, such as this one, just make it extra special. Any news on when the pledge manager releases?
Mythic Games has raised the standard of Kickstarter communication far beyond any that have gone before though to be fair Monolith (also part of the Mythic Battles team) did a fine job on Conan – 183 updates.
MB:P has given us a variety of reptilean monsters, all of them distinct in appearance and characteristics. I am looking forward to having these in my hands by this time 2017 🙂
The cynic in me (now predominant) wants to know if they’ll tell us when things go wrong. That’s when it matters.
The cynic in me wants to know if the backers themselves can behave themselves if the creators have to tell them bad news …
It’s easy to stay civil when they haven’t shipped yet.
Monolith were communicative throughout the duration of the Conan project and apprised backers of delays when and where required. At no point did I feel like I didn’t know what was going on with the Conan game. I would very much expect them to do the same with MB:P.
The minis of MB:P look nice.
I would like to have them in my hand right now. Waiting a year will be hard but so much sweeter when they eventually arrive.
Monolith delivered Conan more or less on schedule and it was in the retail packaging (apart from the KS box with the extras); Mythic have explained why certain things will NOT be done as they would jeopardise the planned delivery of December 2017.
Having lived through DUST and AvP I know when things go awry; it is a pity Hawk did not plan their logistics better for DFC – still a lot of disgruntled punters out there.
