Avalon Returns! New Edition & Artwork In Big Box Release
July 29, 2022 by fcostin
A new edition of The Resistance: Avalon is on its way with a modern touch, to pit the forces of good and evil against one another. Reviving the classic social deduction game into a new Big Box format, from Indie Board and Cards.
If you have never played The Resistance: Avalon before, the premise is simple. 5-10 players will be splitting into two teams with individual hidden roles - one trying to thrust forward into a noble mission and the other in their duty to sabotage. Over a series of missions, players will attempt to work out who can be trusted. Not knowing what teams they are on, taking up a character with a purpose of bluffing and double bluffing through each discussion.
Avalon Big Box // Indie Boards and Cards
Each player will feel backed into a corner, being thrown into missions and entering an open forum of discussions to prove innocence. The upcoming Avalon Big box expands the world completely. Taking The Resistance: Avalon away from The Resistance and into its own standalone game with a buck ton of content.
The new edition expands on gameplay providing new ways to play and new roles to step into. Including Messenger, Lunatic, Brute, Revealer, Cleric, Trickster, and Deceivers. And if you didn't get your hands on the different expansions such as Lancelot and Excalibur - they have all also been factored into the Big Box experience. Plus, upping the player count to aid in some more backstabbery!
The Resistance: Avalon is lots of fun, especially taking on the role of Merlin and a chance to tamper with difficulty, by adding powers to the mix. However, as the game artwork has changed so much, with new mechanics being added. It's hard to say what is going to be exactly the same, but the concept itself is as clear-cut as you can get for an enjoyable social deduction experience, taking roughly 30 minutes to play. Ready to head to retail on August 18th.
