Ares Games & Gremlin Project Announce Sword & Sorcery Board Game Kickstarter
July 29, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
Sword & Sorcery is just one of the many cool things we will be talking to Ares Games about at Gen Con in a couple days. This will be an epic-fantasy cooperative board game from Ares Games and Gremlin Project, where one to five players fight together against the forces of evil, controlled by the game system itself.
Each player will control one or more heroes who are essentially legendary characters brought back to life by powerful sorcery. Weakened by their resurrection, they grow stronger during their story-driven quests. By acquiring soul points during missions, the heroes’ souls regenerate, restoring their legendary status with multiple powers, magic and soul weapons, and powerful artifacts.
The game features an advanced AI system for monsters, a high degree of character customization, and multiple tactical options during battles. So, yes, this is another crawler style board game- but take a look a what's in store for the nature of the miniatures...
Outstanding! These minis are set to be in the neighborhood of 32mm and if the level of detail in this render carries through, these will be gorgeous minis!
Follow us at Gen Con and we'll see what else Ares can tell us about this Kickstarter, scheduled to drop in September.
Will you be taking up arms and backing Ares upcoming Kickstarter?

Looking good, the shoulder pads are larger that you would see in a 80s movie. But that is the only downside of the render
That looks very Warcraft and WoW.
proud to be a betatester of this Epic game.
and i can tell you, apart of the awesomeness of the game itself, the minis are gorgeous! i’ve seen the resin casts a few days ago and they’re probably between the most detailed i’ve seen in boardgames.
More boardgames? I wonder how long this trend can keep up before the bubble bursts.
Those shoulder pads looks very uncomfortable, and I thought GW did ridiculous big shoulder pads…
And another cooperative board game…sigh…. haven’t we seen enough of those yet? What has happened to good old head-to-head?
Well… at least he can lift his arms without popping his own head like a zit, so they’re actually a step up. But you’re right. They do look ridiculous.
Another story driven miniature dungeon crawler *YAWN*
The miniature looks ok. But overall it is too much of the same in a new package. And that promo video was just a waste of time. Where’s the game?
