Yes, some more Gen Con news. Sorry but it seems to have erupted all over the internet today! Ares Games' follow up to War of the Ring, The Battle of Five Armies, will be getting its pre-release at Gen Con this year. This game looks massive and will no doubt vanish in a puff of smoke once people get to their stall...

Based on the rules for War of the Ring the system has been tweaked to represent the coming of different forces to the battlefield and now two players can duke it out to see if the mighty forces of Dwarves, Elves and Men can hold off the Goblins, Wargs and Bats from the mountains. Erebor is in dire need! When will Dain arrive with his armies? Will the Eagles save the day? Who will fall?

I am insanely excited as you might have already guessed and can't wait to see some of the reviews coming in for this game. I think this might be my big board game purchase of the year!
