Archon’s Masters Of The Universe Board Game Lined Up For July
June 22, 2021 by brennon
Both Archon Studio and CMON are lining up to take to fundraisers soon with their own takes on the Masters Of The Universe. Archon Studio is producing their Fields Of Eternia board game which is set to hit Gamefound on 27th July for those in Europe.
Masters Of The Universe: Fields Of Eternia - The Board Game // Archon Studio
Quite a big title but from the looks of it, a name that suits the scale of the game. One-to-six players will take on the role of heroes and villains like He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra, Evil-Lyn, and Man-At-Arms. Each character, represented by their own 32mm plastic miniature, will then look to follow their goals and ambitions, exploring the world and siding with their faction of choice in order to take control of Castle Grayskull.

It certainly sounds like a pretty immense game and the components, miniatures and such that we've seen so far all look neat. It certainly evokes the feel of the classic cartoon that many folks grew up with and I'm sure that will be a draw. No doubt it will also get a lot of people interested who saw the Revelation trailer recently too!

I think a lot of folks are interested in seeing gameplay before they dive in. I like the scale of what Archon is offering but it would be good to see how it all plays out on the tabletop. 180 minutes doesn't seem like too long of a playtime for your max player count which is always handy for immense games like this.
Are you tempted by this new Gamefound project by Archon Studio?

I would definitely like to play this, I’m a big fan of board games. Thanks for the detailed review, I will definitely try it!
Ooh nice this is looking good.
Me at 39yo “How cynical. Of course this is released a couple of days after the new series premieres!” I’ll pass.
Also me: (if 6yo me was here) “OMG OMG OMG!! Gimme!”
IIRC, Archon has the license outside of the USA, while CMON has the USA license. Last I heard, only 2K units will be made, but I don’t know if this has been changed. See the Dakka Dakka Archon thread for more info!
