Alea Celebrate 20 Years With New Look Castles Of Burgundy
February 14, 2019 by cassn
The Castles of Burgundy is a medieval tile-placement, dice-rolling game for 1-4 players. The game was originally released back in 2011, and was a huge success for publisher Alea. In The Castles of Burgundy, each player takes on the role of a French aristocrat in the Burgundy region controlling their own princedom.
Build castles and settlements, trade along the river, gain knowledge from travelers, and gain value from the silver mines to expand and grow your princedom to the most impressive in the whole region!
Now, Alea are celebrating twenty years of gaming with the release of an updated version of the popular territory development game! This new 2019 release focuses on new art and graphic design and contains the ten expansions which have already been released for the base game, plus one new expansion.
Fan responses have been mixed so far, with some unhappy with the new art design, while others wished for a component upgrade. However, Alea have stated that they prioritized including all the expansions over increasing the quality of the components with a thicker card, as only one or the other would fit into the box!
This is a great opportunity of you haven't played The Castles of Burgundy before to buy the base games and expansions in one set. The Castles of Burgundy (2019) will be releasing in Europe in August 2019, and in the US at Gen Con 2019.

looks like a economic type of mighty empires.
Given how bland and boring the current version of the game happens to be, it should not be hard to make an improvement. I do not typically repurchase games but this will be an exception.
