Happy Weekend!
Happy Weekend. Looking forward to watch the episode…
Perfect timing, I just saw an article about Age of tyrants and thought about joining the Kickstarter. Thanks and have a wonderfull weekend!
Age of Tyrants? Junkers? Varidians? is this Void/Urban War?
Looks like it, Myriad Miniatures are the latest custodians of the IP.
It’s set in the same universe.
Yep, set in the same universe – just 200 years earlier. This is just before first contact with the Koralon. It’s also the time that the Iskandrians emerge, so they *might* appear in the Kickstarter too…
Right now, yes, it’s about the four main ‘quasi-human’ factions; Junkers, Viridians, VASA and Syntha.
Great show guys, as always. Gets my Saturday’s off on the right foot.
Really liking the sharp resin casts on the models from Age of Tyrants. Not normally a fan of resin but those look cool.
I’m already a big player of x-wing and have box loads of 15mm FoW so well looking forward to trying out Tanks.
The Fyreslayer stuff for AoS just gets better and better. Simply can’t wait to start painting some of these larger pieces, I’ve been looking for an excuse to get started with my airbrush for way too long!
Looking forward to tomorrow’s XLBS
Yeah, we’ve selected a very particular resin mix to use. It’s super simple to build with and even better for gaming as it’s super-hardwearing!
Age of Tyrants sounds cool
yay its the weekend again
Warren if you want to get in to winter themed Trollbloods I’m certain you would love epic Borka as your Warlock. His feat, spells and abilities work around cold and HE’S RIDING A GIANT POLAR BEAR! http://privateerpress.com/files/products/71085_BorkaVengeanceoftheRimeshaws_WEB.jpg
@warzan Very happy you’re looking to build a Trollblood army – I’d love to see more Warmachine and Hordes content on BoW. I was also going to point you in direction of the polar bear riding Borka, but as @cydonian has beat me to it I’ll simply second that it’s a sweet model that I’m sure you’ll love.
‘Tis the winter finally (in parts of UK) so time to suggle up with a paintbrush and a pile of grey plqstic!
And I shall call the mammoth “Fitzjustin”
Age of Tyrants certainly sounds interesting, I’ve not backed anything yet this year thought I have been tempted by a few things, notably The Epic Western which has 21days left to run, it’s sort of Poker meets a board game and looks interesting – at $24 for the deluxe box I think I’ll probably go for it. But Age of Tyrants is looking like the next thing I’ll back!
That’s great news! Thanks for the support. 🙂
Happy weekend. The GW dragon looks good, even if it sounds like its out a Transformers movie.
@warzan How could you forget to mention that gorgeous Battle Yak in that Shieldmaidens vs Orcs?? It’s a god damned Battle Yak!
Happy weekend
Nice show, as always. Happy weekend!
I’m a big fan of 6mm games. Epic is still my favourite system but I will be watching AoT with great interest.
That’s great! Yeah, Age of Tyrants fills a different niche. A few of us on the team are old Epic fans (I have a Squat army from way back when!) but we wanted something more focused on the ‘Grand Scale’ feel of things – i.e. the Command and Control rules as well as Combined Arms. I think Epic was more a means to an end, to realistically field titan legions, etc – perhaps not thinking quite so much about how the rules should influence that. Not that Epic is bad or anything, it’s just another 6mm scale sci-fi game; as… Read more »
Tyrants looks like a good punt
love Epic interesting tho see how this plays
Yep, keep your eyes peeled for the how to play videos.
Hi folks. Great show ! @Justin. The M7 ‘Priest’ was used mid war by the allies in North Africa and Tunisia. And by the Americans until the end of the war. (The British replaced the Priest with their own variant of SPG the Sexton.) Did you know the M7 was christened the ‘Priest’ by British troops because they thought the 50 cal, ring mount looked a bit like a church pulpit. @Warzan. Maybe your shift in scale is due to you wanting to enjoy massed battles in a practical way? Appropriately scaled minatures for the size of game IS important to… Read more »
Yep! It’s been in development for 8 years! It’s taken a long time to get it to this stage and I’ve only just jumped on board this ship!
Age of Tyrants looks cool, am I going mad or have we seen Rob on a weekender before?
no he has been on BOW promoting other game’s Urban War? I think.
or warzone?
Yes, I used to work for Prodos Games. I decided to leave to pursue my own ventures (with Hysterical Games and Panzerfäuste), but was contacted by John Robertson to join the Age of Tyrants project – I decided I have time for both!
I’ll probably be on BoW yet again for Age of Tyrants AND Panzerfäuste. 🙂
those fyreslayers are awful, makes me wonder where are GW heading…
Is Rob not working at prisons anymore?
Meant to say Prodos not prisons
Freudian slip 😛
hiho,
the resculpt mini of warmachine are beautifull, i realy like the new sculpt of deni2. its a must have for me 🙂
@cydonian
the winter based trollblood theme is realy funny 🙂
cu
caleum
Hordes: A troll(blood) of Fire and Ice 😉
really liking the look of 6mm gaming, cant wait to try it.
Great stuff!
Age of Tyrants sure looks interesting, l’ll defiantly take a look at that KS.
But, how the hell do you paint 6mm Sci-Fi infantry dudes, drybrush or shade?
Just paint them the same way you would paint any other 6mm
I’d suggest slightly brighter colours than the equivalent 28mm and don’t worry too much about shading and highlights.
I guess I should elaborate Method 1 Spray black then paint on colours brighter than normal. When painting the colours but leave enough of the black so you create your own blacklining Method 2 This only really counts towards power armour Spray black paint on base colour. Paint in details wash with thinned down black Method 3 ( My favourite) Spray Grey/White Wash with a shade ( I use Vallejo Black shade heavily watered. This creates some shadow for later Pant on colours Wash with Winsor and Newton Nut Brown Although the Ritterkrieg site I used to visit is sadly… Read more »
I generally suggest basecoats, wash then a drybrush or two.
Great thing about 6mm is that you can ‘get away’ with a lot more using very basic techniques. I much prefer painting big armies of 6mm than big armies of 28mm for exactly that reason!
