Celebrate The 50th Anniversary Of Star Trek With Promo Cards For Ascendancy
June 1, 2016 by stvitusdancern
Gale Force Nine has announced that they will along with the rest of the world will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Star Trek with a special anniversary edition of the soon to be released game Star Trek Ascendancy.
Within this special edition will be fifteen location cards that were in the original TV series. Before you ask, yes you too might find yourself overrun by Tribbles. These cards will only be available in the first printing of the game.
You have seen our coverage of the game and I can tell you from first hand experience that this game is awesome as we got a run through of the game from no less than the man himself John-Paul Brisigotti.
I cannot wait to get my copy later this summer (maybe at Gen Con?)
Are you ready to explore the universe ?

KHANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Sorry … My Trekkie self had to
The Original Series cards have me sold. I would have preferred the entire game to have been themed around the original show, but I know that I am in the minority. I grudgingly recognize that the Next Generation universe is more developed, popular, and generally better source material for the game.
7TV should do the classic Star Trek adventures.
Imagine the models 😀
I was under the impression that the game wasn’t themed to any particular series. The exploration cards I saw when playing it were generic.
This board game can’t get released too soon! My body is ready for it and I’ve even reserved a spot for it on my book shelf on top of Eclipse because sci-fi games like to be close together.
That’s all great but what I really want is a *properly comprehensive* range of ST miniatures. Federation, aliens, explorers, warriors etc, maybe even small shuttles..oh well, perhaps one day someone will see the light..
