i absolutely LOVE battle tech, i discovered it long before i even knew games workshop existed thanks to the saturday morning cartoon of the same name. this is one set ive been eagerly anticipating for a long time though i am hoping that the plastic miniatures are at a higher quality than the last starter set which were sadly pretty sub standard
Battletech was the first wrgame I ever played, and in many ways, the best. Now I am a Catalyst Games Lab Demo Team Agent. There are a bunch of us who go to conventions and host demos at local “Firebases”. Look for an Agent near you here:

You will have to register first. This will alow you to search for a local CDT Agent and allow us to look for you to invite to events and keep informed on the goings on at Catalyst.

Wow 25 year. Have I realy been playing this game for that long. to think that 1986 was 25 years ago. I feel so old now.
It’s an exclusive club… that’s the way I like to delude myself! 😀

Ugh, I’m with ya Wolflord, I remember when I bought the Battletech box set with some buddies back then. It was a blast to play.
Another Battletech fan here – looking forward to an unboxing (or playtest hint hint) to see if it makes my birthday list 🙂
Not played this in a long time. Does anyone now the best place to get battletech in the uk?
brought my battletech box set in 1986 at gamesday when it was held in London and GW allowed other traders to take part and been hooked ever since.
Gameslore web store sell the books and have a good service while Ral Partha Europe online sell most of the models though i have not used them so cannot coment on their service
I renewed my interest in Battletech about six months ago and discovered that most of the books were out of print, as was the introductory set, so I hope there will be some UK sites (e.g. Gameslore) offering pre-orders for this over the next few weeks. Really looking forward to this!
It was back in 86 but I still remembers the first company on company game I played. I particular the Locust I had. It didn’t really do much damage. But it ran from one end of the board and back again taking pot shots at the enemy. He got so annoyed at it that he would fire everything he could at it every round. But he just could not kill the thing. To this day, this is my fondest memory of this game. My #2 favorite memory is the look on my friends face when my wife’s re-fitted Berserker nailed… Read more »
I’m just getting back into Battletech after spotting this 25th Anniversary set in the stores. Hope to pick mine up in a couple days when I get paid!
Much better than the other new Intro box set that came with basically the same stuff but horrid thin paper maps
