Can we just vote @avernos for all of them as I really cant remember what was released last year
I think that is an excellent idea.
Gerry was definitely the best card game of 2019
I am indeed a card, Ding Dong
Yeah you’re at least the Five of Clubs
That high, really?
Cool
Punched all my things in…
are you doing a short list? @warzan
Hmm … some seriously tough calls here. For Best Content Creator (if I understand the criteria right) I honestly don’t know whether I’ll go with @stvitusdancern or @dignity . Heck, check out @elessar2590 ‘s “Another Wargaming Historian” YouTube channel. Oh man, what about @laughingboy ‘s streams? ARGHH! Too many choices! Best Community Project will be brutal. @denzien ‘s American Revolution and Victorian projects are epic. @redvers ‘ 75th commemorative Monte Cassino, especially during the spring and summer to mark the anniversary of this battle, are also contenders in my book. So many to pick from! Best Hobby Hero … @suetoniuspaullinus… Read more »
I’m just happy that someone has been enjoying my self indulgent ramblings!
Self indulgent, @redvers ? Not at all. It was commemorating the Battles of Monte Cassino. I mean lots of people play skirmish “Yanks vs. Germans” Band-of-Brothers style, and that’s great. But when people put the effort into researching and recreating aspects of the historical battles in hand, that’s always a big plus in my book.
Then I better get the next battle report written up and posted! It’s finished, just need to find the time….
Remember to share this around on social media if you can please. The more people’s opinions we are, the more chance to find some hidden gems!
Well, I’ve completed it, but i really cannot remember what was this year or not. Perhaps a year in review video might be beneficial, but perhaps more effort than its worth to create? Plus it might influence votes I suppose.
My concern with Awards that rely on a popular vote is that games from large companies, with huge followings, often dominate even if they are not the actual best games on the market. Smaller producers, of what may be excellent and more deserving games, generally do not stand a chance. They can often rally enough supporters to get a nomination, but if only one percent of the followers of one of the larger company’s games vote they are outvoted by ten to one. Full disclosure: I have a dog in this fight, being one of the authors from The Ministry… Read more »
Perhaps the Bow Team could award their own award that they picked themselves for best innovation/idea in games this year (could be for miniatures, rules, boardgames even funky dice towers)? Then the smaller companies would at least get a chance vs the usual Kickstarter monsters like CMON and Mythic/Monolith
Got my votes in (although I didn’t vote for everything). I steered clear of backing any kickstarters this year (as I already have LOADS of KS stuff I’ve barely touched). so had no experience of one this year to vote for 🙂
Spent ages thinking about my responses, finding links and writing detailed explanations. Clicked Next and the session had timed out, all gone. Woosa!
Nice to have the nominations on a page that’s marked as “potentially hazardous to my device”. Guess no nom-noms for me.
