Let’s Play: Batman – Gotham City Chronicles [Adventure Mode]
February 15, 2018 by thisisazrael
Adnane from Monolith is showing us how to play the upcoming miniature boardgame Batman: Gotham City Chronicles.
In this video we are playing the Adventure Mode which has one person controlling the villains against the other players who will each take on the mantle of a superhero.
This particular scenario will challenge the heroes to defuse several bombs around a train station before the villains can detonate at least two of them.
Do you like one vs many game modes?

Can you choose which heroes and villains you can use in each of the scenarios? You couldn’t with Conan, which means I have dozens of models never used.
Love the board, the forced perspective graphics really make it look like a 3D board.
I thought the heroes had overspent their cubes in the 1st round. Left themselves really vulnerable for the second but great comeback in the end. Havent backed a Kickstarter project since 2014 but I think I´ll be backing this one. Looks amazing !!
Did everyone hear that just now?……That yelp was the sound of my wallet as I was unclear if I would back this until I looked at the whole play through.
Awesome game, I’m in!
I’ve been saving up for this one and I’m very happy with the gameplay. I’m in.
Looks great. But once i naildown my final couple of PM’s, i’ve sworn off KS for the sake of my wallet for the time being. Long term goal is Conan and MB:R next year.
I like the dice mechanics of increased attack as the dice change colour. Also the cube system is a nice touch. Kinda wished I played it last year at UK Games Expo but it was always busy. Look forward to the kickstarter.
Seen the game in action made me rethink my stance on this KS. great video guys, thanks!
I watched the play through after watching the interview on the Weekender. I really like the mechanics of the game and the models look awesome. I’m just hesitant backing something that is a Kickstarter exclusive. Since it will never see retail, where will be the support for this game? How does producing this game help Monolith? I though Kickstarter was there to raising funding for a project. I didn’t think you were allowed to profit from the pledges. Monolith must think they will make money off of the Kickstarter if they will not retail the game.
there is no rule against making money of kickstarter … Heck, companies would be stupid if they didn’t. Also keep in mind that the market for boardgames that cost 100+$ isn’t that big. You need a lot of luck and have excellent timing to make something in that 100+$ range and make money. It’s why Zombicide has a dozen sequels/expansions by now. They got lucky and found a winning formula. And while Batman as an IP has a pretty good chance of getting people to spend that kind of money I’m not sure it will attract enough people to gain… Read more »
