Weird didnt mean to submit honest 😉
Makes me want to get something like this hooked up to it http://www.blessthisstuff.com/stuff/technology/digital-camcorders/aime-automatic-tracking-camera-mount/
or possibly bugger around with kinnect or rasp pi vision sdk’s and see if i can get it to track “objects” going down the pi route would make it easy to trigger a servo or solinoid to pull the trigger, or just gut the firing electronics and make the switch software controlled, should also be possible with a pi to stream your kill cam used to track objects;)
Something like this :

May I suggest a Couple of ideas?
1. Strengthen the tripod base as it’s not really designed to be upside down.
2. Motorise the base to allow the gun to track people. It’s probably outwith this build project, but it would be really cool!
I presume the gun operates upside down ok? A lot of Nerf guns make use of gravity in their feeds.
I agree. I would make sure it fires upside down first. Definitely need some kind of servo controls to aim it with and a targeting camera. Too bad it is not belt fed so that you could get really crazy with it.
I would have loved to do this project with two Nerf Vulcans 😛
Just how much of a hangover was Justin having?
Hey guys why not hook it up to a rotor motor mount to make it a real sentry gun motion sensor , I remember a girl did it on u tube Facebook made a perfect gun hooked to her laptop to fire on anything that did not have this pattern she had on it was awesome
lol … every single one of us is thinking of motorizing the thing so it can automatically track its targets.
The only thing missing is a camera for remote control …
I would be really wary of this , as some ceiling tiles are produced as part of the buildings fire prevention strategy, In order to achieve a fire-rated ceiling, the entire construction of the ceiling is key. As a result, technically no ceiling tile itself is fire-rated; although when utilised with a certain grid combination and fixing method the same tile may be used as part of a fire-rated ceiling.
Be careful please guys.
I was thinking the same thing. You can’t have vents in the tile as it would allow fire to get up into the void above the suspended ceiling, allowing the fire free rein to spread! Gotta be super careful with this!
nice security system.
