Guys, I’m having a problem all of a sudden with being able to view the backstage videos due to a network failure or unsupported codec. Anything change on these or is there a special format I should load up? I really enjoy the hobby lab stuff (and would love to see the airbrush videos) and would hate to miss out.
It can happen sometimes when the servers a busy delivering the video.
Try again in a bit (Also use Chrome rather than Firefox which is a bit rubbish in its video support)
The Airbrush has just moved another couple of positions towards the top of my shoppong list.
Very nice and simple job their love the mask looks a much better quality one than the one I found for the paint gun video.
Lol to “Masks for health and safety” while opening bags with your teeth. But I applaud your effort; good role models. I’d say to novices: don’t get put off by gloves and masks! I’d only consider them for 15 mins of painting or more, which almost never happens for me. Depending on the ventilation of your room, of course.
Do you think people should take into account a cumulative effect? Might only be 15mins but if your doing that every day etc?
The H&S is very much down to each persons own circumstances/risk, but I think it’s worth touching on whenever we can. 🙂
Hidden Airbrush H&S content lol it’s like a bonus track on the crater building 🙂
I cannot believe how well that airbrush did the shading and that edge detailing; really amazing stuff!
How about adding some stones to break up the mono-brown look? I would expect explosions that size would through up some rocks.
That would definitely work 🙂
We’re also looking at farm animal carcasses too.
You don’t get many rocks in ploughed fields as they come to the surface the plough catches them and pulls them to the surface for the farmer to remove as it has damaged the plough.
love the craters look so easy to make too thanks guys for the tutorial gonna have to go make some for myself now 🙂
Great looking craters but Lloyd, please, please let me know how the hills were done on the board behind you 🙂
If you want to have higher walls on your crater, it’s probably worthwhile to use a solid base. Get one of them styrofoam or wood rings from a craft shop or something similar. Pigment powders work well for weathering too, though you really should fix them afterwards. But about the masks: Listen guys, I’ve been wearing them for 20+ years. The kind of filter you want depends on the stuff you’re doing. There is no universal filter that works for everything. There’s basically two kinds of filter: mechanical and chemical. Mechanical filters work for particles of all kinds, including paint.… Read more »
Been a member for a short time now but I am still getting use to finding things, so I’m sorry this is a silly question. I have found the video for making fields and the video for making craters (both were fantastic) how do I find the video for making hedges?
