Kickstarter where too much even for the great Rick Priestly -But the video where recorded before GoA where folded up I guess
And the link to the blog
Nice video , I’ve enjoyed all of these little looks into the industry itself , I think that with kickstarter, and obviously this is with hindsight at whats gone on since this video was obviously filmed, the real danger is overkill. What seems to be going on now is that any game needs an expansion, they are just designing everything, getting it all ready and then kickstarting it as a form of pre ordering. That sounds great, it certainly is for the games company, it debatably is for those that get in on the kickstarter, it certainly isnt for the… Read more »
DreadBall shifted a few thousand copies via KS and within weeks of general release that amount had been surpassed in general sales. I’m willing to bet that without the KS, general release sales of DB would have been lower. By which I mean that I don’t believe it to be the case that there is a set DB consumer base which was split between the KS and general sales but that the KS created a consumer base that the general release benefited from enormously. One of my favorite show to date. Keep it coming guys. It is very interesting to look at the hobby from the designers’ point of view. I’m happy to be a backstager.

I will speak to the team about having the categories updated
And we’ll be making backstage more browsable soon!
I like the balance mantic strikes on their KSers in that they have a solid core product that is pretty much ready to go but as things progress and they move into fresh territory they become increasingly conceptual and therefore able to respond to backer comments and feedback.
i like your advice on critism and longevity works for nearly every industry. if there are any game designers out please write a game set in the universe of frank Herbert’s dune. it would be amazing
Cool vids. Looking forward to the updates.
