I love how streamlined the rules are while the complexity and verity seems to be coming from the weapons and skills… need to watch an objective based game
That was what struck me most about this game was how quick it was to pick up, and ultimately how dynamic it felt playing it, see below though because @oriskany has hit the nail on the head regarding the meta.
I like what the guys talk about starting at 21:30, where certain merits and flaws of different factions can be mitigated with careful attention to army / list construction In a lot of miniatures games, it seems that building a properly balanced, multi-role, flexible, and inter-supportive list is a big part of the tactics. All wargames have an element of dice and chance. “proper planning, tactics, and execution”
or you can just sell your soul 😉
Great series! I can’t wait to see more of it! I love this game and universe.
I almost felt sorry for @Warzan here… And then I remembered the Dark Age week battle report, and the unholy amount of 1s he rolled! 😉
lol yeah @dignity does totally get the better of me a lot of the time too though! 😉
your to good at rolling high numbers warren
Forgot to fully charge the dice with my lasers 😉
I’m liking the look of this game. One thing I’ve noticed in some of the moves is that sometimes they appear to be moving the move distance measuing it front-to-back of the base rather than front-to-front (e.g. Warren @10:00 – or was that2 moves? Justin @11:55 making 2×2″ moves, or was that 3×2″?) . Just had a quick look at the freely downloadable rules and errata (from the dark-age website) and it’s not clear on this (page 19). I’m guessing it should be front-to-front otherwise Justin with each of his 4×2″ moves and a large base would be moving a… Read more »
OK – should have kept watching as Justin clarified he’d made 3 moves @11:55.
