Avatars Of War are currently on Kickstarter with a campaign that might suit those looking to build armies for Warhammer: The Old World. The current campaign is seeking to raise funds to produce a range of thermoplastic 28mm Orc Warriors that you can use to build the core of your army.

Avatars Of War are working with Miniaturas Alemany who use SioCast machines to bring this set of bitz to life so you can build some classic Orc Warriors for use in your rank and flank wargames. The important bit with the material they are working with is that this is SiOres HARD which has been made to work specifically with wargaming miniatures to give them added detail and robustness it seems.

The actual contents of the core pledge give you a whole host of different options when it comes to arming and armouring your Orcs. You can have them with hand weapons and shields, two weapons (for extra attacks) or spears and shields (for that lovely rank bonus!).

At its base level, there is a Starter Set that gives you plenty to work with when it comes to building up a small regiment for the tabletop. You can then add a series of these sets together into pledges to make eight, sixteen, twenty-four or thirty-six Orcs.

You then have the option to choose a bunch of different bases to suit your needs as well. So, if you're planning to use these for The Old World or perhaps a new army in Oathmark or Dragon Rampant, there are options for you to consider.

Stretch Goals & More

The campaign is also doing well and that means Stretch Goals!

As well as a few bonus options for customisation within your regiments, there are no doubt going to be more incoming so that you've got plenty to build and paint! I like that Avatars Of War have managed to retain the dynamism of their Orcs whilst also making them suitably good for ranking up without too much hassle. I imagine some of the spikey bits might get in the way here and there.

Additionally, the campaign also lets you pick up a bunch of their Orc characters like Warlords and such that you could use to lead these armies on the tabletop.

Will you be snapping up some of these new Orc Warriors?
