Art Of War Studios Build Up Walls In The Underhive
December 20, 2017 by brennon
Art Of War Studios has some awesome new terrain for you to pick up for your games of Necromunda: Underhive which turn it from 2D to 3D with some ace Hive Wall segments.
Inside the set, you're going to get...
- 24x Columns
- 10x Long Walls (including three with ducts)
- 22x Short Walls (including two with ducts)
...making a rather awesome looking tabletop with big bulkheads allowing you to screen of enemies and add to the claustrophobic nature of the game.
As you can see the walls match well with some of the plastic terrain that is already out there for the game. You'll also maybe notice on some pieces that you can see through them thanks to portholes and such.
This means that the sneaky amongst you could see about getting a shot through one of those in order to take out some pesky gangers.
What do you think of their new terrain package?

Nice. This could work in all kinds of games.
My Necroteraain pounds will be going to TT Combat, but this is such a great idea.
great stuff.
2D is fine for a start in a game, but this is more than one step ahead. Splendid.
I saw them in a play through on youtube and they really added a lot of flair to the whole setting.
For those who have a 3D printer available, this set includes some versions created for underhive too: https://www.printablescenery.com/product/gothic-spaceship-wall/
I am currently printing these. As they can be printed without infill (at least on my printer), the print will be reasonable priced (aprx 18€ for filament + x€ for energy). But as usual it takes ages 🙂
It looks really good, but it’s also really pricey. I haven’t looked into it in great detail so perhaps it is amazing, but I wasn’t expecting it to cost more than the game itself. A shame because they look like they’ll add a LOT to the basic game.
When Death Ray Designs showed off a similar system a few weeks back it got me very interested as I would like a Zone Mortallis board sometime in the future. It didn’t make any sense to order it from the US with postage and import duties. So I was waiting from someone to do this in the UK. The idea is really neat from a storage perspective. When you then work out the actual cost for a full 4X4 setup the cost starts to move into the FW original territory. The painting effort is going to be about the same,… Read more »
Together with a Necromunda Christmas present, this has inspired to take a plunge and buy a 3d printer. The price was about 3-4X that of the set above and so I foresee a pretty quick ROI (assuming it all works properly!).
