“It’s great to just look over … at my rack … and go … this is what I NEED”
@johnlyons 2017
Sorry, Warzan, but I thought John was your Army Painter.
lol – not nearly as much as I’d like lol
Science says the looking at the rack everyday will keep your heart healthy and young thus extending your life.
@johnlyons… I hope your gf does not see this you could get into a tad of bother …lol
Where’s the supervisor standing and watching the work get done with a cuppa in hand?
that was @lancorz quietly judging them from behind the camera
And he judged them hard! lol
So did I when I found out it took damn near half a day for them to build the bloody thing! 😉
they had to stop to wipe the droll off all the time.?
I think they were fighting over who got to sit in the cardboard box … 😉
I know that you all get great support by 4ground and armtypainter , but this Really feels like a big tv commercial !!!
You mean like a 60″ Curved Screen? 😉
There may need to be a bit more transparency over such content?
Social media stars breaching rules on promoting brands, watchdog says

Well I can transparently say that Army painter didn’t pay for this vid, ask for this vid or have anything to do with this vid 🙂 (The rack is for bootcamps etc)
All the bad jokes, innuendoes and jibes at Justin’s expense were entirely those of the lads building, filming and editing the skit 🙂
Man, I just love Army Painter stuff. THat rack is a corker!
To have a “RACK” like that, i`d be topless for ever……………………………The way Jonh`s looking at the rack, he`ll be wanting the whole place decked out with them.
Wonder how much one of them would cost to buy and fill.
I have no idea, it’s a store thing typically (not even available to joe public) I would imagine they are not cheap though!
No “RACK” is cheap @warzen lol, and when you consider what you would pay for all the paint`s – brushes and such not many of us could afford it.
a pleasure to watch craftsmen at work 😉
nice rack, did they send you all the stock as well 😉 😉 need a top up
@johnlyons it looks lonely and bit lopsided you need another one for the symmetry 😉 😉
I heard Army Painter had a huge package, I did not know their package was this huge.
So I can we called up to the club on a Sunday can we buy stuff?
yup. It’s what I do since no bugger will ship sprays here in case we turn them into IEDs
I thought it was about the dangers of transport??!? Is it really to do with risk on this side of the sea?
aye it’s just transportation, they can’t fly them over cause they’re pressurised and no one wants to pay courier shipping for 1 tin of spray 😉
Ahh haaaaa I was wondering where to find locally (ish) I wanted to buy a tin of that dip to try from the UK online.. I cried when I saw the postage costs and quickly emptied my shopping cart of it!
….. I didnt actually cry so to speak it was more a four letter verbal tirade at my poor monitor.
That rack is bigger than mine!!!
It does look really nice.
(and so many fun comments here)
That was surprisingly fun to watch. Good choice of music.
John really should keep his excitement down when he is looking at the rack.
Just a big Commercial for AP – You guys jumped the shark here on this one – I’m dropping out of Back Stage, very little substance here anymore. More and More Product placement Stuff all the time.
Tricky to know where to start with this 🙂 as anything I say is either going to sound patronising or confrontational, and I really don’t want either to come across 🙂 But… This is not a product you can actually buy, its a thing only for stores, we have one to make it a bit easier to let folk choose paints at bootcamps etc. If it were a commercial I suppose we’d have put it out frontstage where it would get its widest viewership, rather this was just a bit of fun that was filmed while building it – hence… Read more »
Lets just agree to disagree, but that seems very much like a Product Placement from a frequent Advertiser on your Website.
I understand your business model, but it just seems more and more like BOW is just a platform for Vendors to show off their products and services.
It’s a lot of Kick-starter and (Insert Name Here )Week Product Showcases.
I wish you guys well, but i’m moving on.
I really don’t know what to tell you @gridlock1966 the vast majority of new games etc get launched via KS, it is the funding platform of choice for nearly all smaller games companies. We didn’t create that we can only reflect what the industry is doing. Themed weeks have been a staple on BoW since we launched our first ‘Nid Week’ (2009) before even this website launched. We opened it up to smaller companies and games a very long time ago specifically to give them an opportunity to give us an in-depth look at their games. We have since done… Read more »
@warzan I think you guys do a crackin’ job and I don’t feel this was “product placement”. I take it at face value. Lads filming something and having a laugh doing it.
I mean, your entire website is dedicated to showing off products so that we can see them. I get what @gridlock1966 is saying, but I just can’t really agree with it; but I suppose everyone has an opinion. You guys give your thoughts and write up articles about armies, systems, books, lets-plays, and products. I don’t see the harm in a video like this, and to be frank I enjoy seeing little shorts like this. @Warzan I think you guys are doing and have been doing a great job for years and only seem to get better. Keep doing what… Read more »
maybe it does feel like Product placement but I meet this guys and they are just big kids having fun with big rack, like I would if I would have big rack ( I am painter ) so I get why they did thet video, you sometimes forget that its just bunch of hobbists that try to look professional while they playing plastic toys.
If you guy`s at BoW did`t have what is referred to as “Product Placement”, us front and back staggers would miss out on a lot of stuff. I for one am happy with BoW and how it`s run, and i could never do what you guy`s do (all`s i would wont to do is play games, and bugger the boring stuff) and keep looking at that beautiful “Rack” 😉
Done Cancelled Back Stage Sub.
I’ve seen a few, but that really is an impressive rack @johnlyons
00:54 : I’d agree with Justin that is indeed meccano to the inner 5 year old 😉
btw :
Anyone else think it sucks that modern meccano isn’t as technical as it was decades ago ?
I saw Halo stuff recently that looked ‘simpler’
I remember as a kid getting handed a big box of it, but no instructions and just getting stuck in to building (Lego was the same back then too)
I think today they are more predefined kits.
I’m not sure John should be left alone with that
Yeah it’s a disturbing thing to watch a man and his deep love for a rack.
That was Lance hopping in the box wasn’t it ???/ ….. lol ….. child
The box is staying with us, we’re fighting over whether it will be turned into a rocket or a race car 😉
or both like the cart in inside out?
lol
OOH!!!! flying car…
rocket/car…..
boat/rocket…..
Submarine…….
too many ideas, head starting to melt, boss looking at me weird
CRAP have to go back to work
Just want to build a submarine now, productivity is going to go down hill today
you can also use it to sneak around as no one suspects a lonely cardboard box of hiding a solid snake … 😉
Simple pleasures. That’s all I need.
That is a rack I would love to get my hands on…
That is a mighty nice erection you guys have.
Typical sexually frustrated wargamers
sexually frustrated you say, i was wondering why i like playing with little toy soldiers and there hard ware. 😉
