New Fyreslayer Beasts & Characters Coming Soon To Age Of Sigmar
January 12, 2016 by brennon
Some leaks from the upcoming White Dwarf have given us some additional information on future Age of Sigmar Fyreslayers from Games Workshop. See what you think of the Magmadroth and the other leaders of the Fyreslayers HERE...
As you're looking through the images you'll see the...
- Auric Runefather
- Auric Runesmiter
- Auric Runeson
...and in addition both the Auric Runefather and Runesmiter mounted atop the massive Magmadroths. I'm really digging the look of the new Fyreslayers and especially from this group of characters the Runeson. I think he has the look of those old Dragon Slayers from the Warhammer Fantasy world. He could even be the likes of Ungrim Ironfist himself.
The Magmadroths are taking a bit more getting used to. I like the design of them which echoes a lot of what I liked about Deathwing from the World of Warcraft games.
What do you think of these new characters?

I known they’re getting mixed reviews here, but having modelled dwarf factions for many years I really like them.
Yay 🙂
These are off shoots to the WFB Slayers, will there be an off-shoot of regulars Dwarfs.
Yes the regular Duardin. I would imagine they will continue to use the existing Hammerers and Ironbreakers they bought out towards the end of Warhammer Fantasy but bring out new models to supplement the rest of the range.
That’s my hope at least.
I bought a secondhand job lot a while back from a show but they’re not the most inspiring models to paint. Dwarves have been well overdue a relaunch so good to see these coming out for AoS.
Those dwarfs look better each time I see them.
Really enjoying the look of these guys.
I really like the look of them.
I really like the axes and two handed weapons, there’s a real Celtic flavour about them where as the headgear is not too dissimilar to Roman Centruian.
I recon they’ll be fun to paint too.
I am still not convinced by those.
I like the new Fyreslayer character models for the most part, though I do feel that the Runesmiter’s pose is a little bit on the stiff side. They all seem to have interesting and pretty useful rules (even if the Runeson’s Explosive Rage rule will test the patience of people who don’t like the more frivolous side of the AoS ruleset) with the Runefather being a pretty hardc ore fighter, the Runesmiter being a useful support character with soerm very effective buffing abilities, and the Runeson being a flexible option who can fight effectively in close combat or can function… Read more »
Considering where they come from, flaming dwarfs on large fire lizards is okay by me, but the saddle/seat? looks more like mechanical horsie/space ship in front of a grocery store. Put your quarter in and ride away (for a while). Looks like there’s room for 3-plus more dwarfs on there.
I’m pretty much in love with this faction. These guys are well made, and well thought out. It ALMOST has me buying into AoS. If those mounts aren’t 200 usd I may pick it up.
The Runesmiter looks like a great basis for making a Chais Dwarf character. Not a fan of the other two though. The Runefather’s halberd looks highly unwieldy on the infantry version; the mounted version at least has the justification that he needs the length to be able to reach enemies on the ground.
I love the lizards… I still loathe those dwarves, even though they’re from Paul Bonner illustrations. They’re not dwarves, they’re gay bears fans of Cher at the Gay Pride parade in Gran Canaria.
Exactly what Romain said.
The big lizards look awesome. The Dwarves look like crap.
They could walk on either side of the Nagash float, tossing candy to the kids 🙂
I’ve never been a fan of this dwarf style, but if I were to buy some: AoW. Same look, as good or better in terms of poses: 35 euros for 20 figures.
