ah … ye olde ‘roll playing’. It’s kind of what stops me from enjoying rpg’s as I just suck at actual ‘role playing’ so I tend to default to rolling dice.
I think it’s an issue that also is caused by the rules/game system itself.

A rulebook can also be a good purchase just for the fluff, model photography, or the artwork.

@sundancer the game is not going well and although the dice are not being kind to the players, my encounters have been unbalanced which is frustrating us all. More importantly… there is too much roll-playing and not enough role-playing.

I’ve had my day of fun at the “Spellenspektakel” convention.
I think this was the first time actual wargames were being played.I spoke to the author of “argueing when …”.
The rules are based on the matrix games that are often used in ‘real’ wargaming.
Instead of having statistics it is more like a roleplaying game.
