Yeah, the pre-supported files printed really well apart from a few slight issues I had.
1. Had to cure the infantry models then used clippers to cut the supports away carefully, as the legs snapped off before […] -

I’m not sure what to hope for/wish for………..
But…….
if phase 1 was “Beasts of War”
and phase 2 was “On Table Top”
Will phase 3 be “Gerry’s World”
😃👍

@redscope they may not be designed to trip up small companies, but they never feel like they are designed with small companies in mind either.
I’ve seen this with the ISO 27001 & 9001 certifications at work. It’s a heck of an admin task that is filled with things that don’t even apply to small companies (or don’t scale down enough for them to…[Read more]

They’re not doing a lot of GW content (thank the maker I say), so numbers aren’t going to sky rocket … which kind of sucks.
@a27cromwell the studio space is still there. It’s where Warren and Justin are doing their Armoured Clash tables.
Oh … and speaking of VLOGs. The current ‘tale of two tables’ that’s kind of hidden inside the weekenders…[Read more]

@limburger and @redscope I believe your take on this is correct: it’s directed squarely at Temu, AliExpress, and the huge number of the same sellers who operate through Amazon. 100% Chinese market issues, for sub-standard suppliers.
Also, post January is going to be bad, very bad. The worst is coming. As a Canadian, I’m already forgoing any tri…[Read more]

The biggest problem is the project site. It could be a wonderful tool to show case peoples work and products. However it is such a pain to use. It is slightly better than a year ago but when it does go wrong i feel like walking away from it. Today for example I spent an hour writing an update, adding pictures to a detailed post. Only to hit…[Read more]

@pagan8th at least you can’t say there’s a lack of ideas on what to do for hobby 😉
I’ve been thinking of getting my nephews and niece to do some kind of tabletop game or hobby, but I’m not sure there’s anything that is practical as it would need to be travel-sized.
Maybe I can turn the tables (ha!) and invite them over next year so the…[Read more]

I haven’t watched more than a half dozen Weekenders / Sunday show since the Covid lockdown was lifted . In fact I let my membership lapse for a couple of years . I did renew a while ago , but probably won’t when the year runs out . I miss the in studio weekend shows. I miss Justin or Warren derailing the conversation and taking it way out into…[Read more]

My general view is that the new GPSR rules are a good thing. They are not designed to trip up hobby companies we have to look at the wider picture of what is going on in retail with companies like Timu, Ali Express and now Amazon had started to look at the same model. Not suggesting they are doing anything illegal but the items on the store…[Read more]

Everyone with a brain is worried about this one.
It’s the sort of stuff that lovers of red tape dream off, but serves zero practical purpose.
It’s like the ‘data privacy officer’ (yeah … that’s a thing).
Only big companies have the resources to waste on this bureaucratic nonsense.
Everyone else will either do nothing or point towards the same…[Read more] -

For clarity, this is the part of the GPSR amendment that as I understand it has people worried.
Responsible person. Manufacturers that are not based in the EU must establish an operator within the EU that is responsible for compliance with the GPSR, and they should be identified on the product or its packaging. Their role will include being the…[Read more]

I’ve seen similar messages from a couple of the smaller scale indie companies (Statuesque, Mammoth Miniatures) too.
Broadly speaking GPSR requires adequate safety labelling on goods, which isn’t that much of a big deal, and most companies will already be following that.
But I think the sticking point is a new requirement – “A key change is the…[Read more]
