Grumpy Old War Gamer’s Painting Competition
June 8, 2013 by brennon
It's been a very busy day here at the Grumpy Old War Gamers convention but we've also had the Painting Competition running too. Check out some of the amazing looking models below...
Above are just a few of the single miniatures that we've seen today and there will be many others below too. Of the ones above I have a soft spot for that mighty Bane figure from Knight Models...
The Tau diorama is pretty fantastic too. I love the clash of fire and ice but the Werewolf miniature is right up there as one of the best. I've no idea what range it's from but I'm fairly sure I need to find out.
I always love myself a nice duel and the Lizardman Vs Orc is pretty ace. Although I have to say that a massive Skaven hero riding that beastie makes for a pretty hard to beat entry.
This is only a fraction of the entries from today and slowly but surely I'm going to update this post with a variety of other pieces until the whole lot of them have made an appearance, some more of which are now below...
Thanks to everyone who entered of course!
Lots of really awesome stuff, but anyone know where that werewolf is from?? I need to have one of those;-)
I actually have no idea and I was thinking the same thing! I will endeavor to find out, or maybe someone from the internet has a clue!
Crossing my fingers it’s still in production, last time I saw a werewolf model I really wanted it wasn’t 😉
That werewolf is a large scale item, approx 10 inches tall.
Its a pegaso models mini.
Wayland can stock it if required.
Oh, wow, I was wondering about that warhound behind it, thought it had to be the angle of the photo that made it look so big O_O
I still want one, but painting something of that size is quite the daunting task, if not to say time consuming. That, and I have a budget to keep and an army to paint:-/
Oh well, it will simply have to wait I’m afraid, next year hopefully. Too much to be done this year (finishing an apprenticeship and getting a drivers licence + car for example)
Some impressive models and talent. Wish I could see them in person.
Most of them will probably be at the next convention… At least, they said so ! 🙂
Love the War machine Kraken it needs a tiny Tom Cruse to try and eat…
I should say MODEL Tom Cruse… he already is tiny.
Really great painting guys, thanks for making a guy feel really talentless HAHAHAHA
How do you think we who actually are talentless feel? 🙂
It’s a great show of minis, some truly impressive painting going on. Although I think the Stealth Suits needed a bit more shading
Aww…
You’re not talentless. Your news are great !
wow, much higher standard by the looks of things than I was expecting!
hi
super convention
I wonder if SOMEBODY took a picture of the results?
single best
best open
wide best
best of show
Truly impressive work! Also think I’m getting one of those werewolves for my husband-to-be and painting it as a gift. It looks awesome.
