Check Out Characters & Troops For The Future Of Kings Of War
May 27, 2013 by brennon
If you are a lover of fantasy and not too enamored with this talk of Warpath and Deadzone then you might be interested to see the new Kings of War Models on the way from Mantic Games...
First up we have a look at the Basileans with their Men-At-Arms, Paladins and Sisters all ready to provide their own brand of holy justice when it comes to the enemy.
The Paladins are my absolute favourite models from their range, I love the style of them and they look brutal. I reckon I might be grabbing a regiment of these when they come out.
Next up we have some monstrous beasts and contraptions for the battlefield. Mummies look pretty darn deadly but what about next to the likes of that Ogre or those snarling Werewolves (my favourite of the ones above). Even the Orc Chariot is looking like a nice piece of battlefield kit.
To round things off we have these character models for the various armies. As you might imagine by favourite is the Dwarf at the top but the other two, despite being Elves are pretty darn epic too. While you could of course use them for Kings of War I reckon all of them would be brilliant as role-playing heroes.
That's what I intend to use that Dwarf as anyway! I reckon he would make a perfect Cleric or Fighter. The El'Rik is a perfect Wizard and The Green Lady a mighty Druid.
What do you think of all these new models?

I love the Ps too. Some nice stuff here. Very rare to see a dwarf model with such a dynamic sculpt.
Hay wow… new Kings of War! The Human Men at Arms looks like Crap! The Paladins look Great, the Nuns look good as well. I am not so keen on the Mummies, but the Ogre looks good. I would like the Werewolves, but I think their heads are a tad too small. Also the Chariots cab seems a bit to wide. The Dwarf Hero looks amazing, but then I think all of Mantic Dwarf characters are amazing (shame about the plasics). The Elf Mage looks equally as good and is probably the first Mantic Elf I wholy approve of. The… Read more »
I have to agree about the Dwarf Characters Vs the actual rank and file. I prefer the characters much more as the plastics feel bunched up and don’t ‘feel’ like the fit the heroes.
I don’t like the look of the mummies
holy frak! where did this stuff come from !!!!
Wish the wolfmen where out some time ago as I needed something alone the lines as this. 🙁
Surely Mantic aren’t dumb enough to give the men at arms A SINGLE FACE TYPE (poses are irrelevant, same head).
And Mantic steps up and shows GW what elven faces should look like .. this is definatly looking more and more interesting, also like the focus on big affordable armies. Well done mantic!
This stuff is looking amazing. May have to start a KoW Basilean army.
Quite a mixed bag, some good, some bad:
Basilieans: Paladins, Sisters, good, men-at-arms meh
Mummies: bad. Must be the poses. Just not feeling the love.
Ogre: bad. The victim of a foot-binding ritual, no doubt. They look too small.
Orc chariot: good. Must get some
Dwarf: meh
Elf: meh
Druid: bad. Not dynamic, very white bread. All the individuals would have been avant garde in the 90’s
This new stuff’s not bad, but at least they finally have a Human faction now. 🙂
Can’t believe you guys LIKE the battle nuns! Have you seen those “Mr Fantastic” arms!?
The Paladins are great, as is the Ogre, Chariot and characters. The Dwarf in particular is amazing
Dem hands on the sisters…
it’s possible the photo of the sisters is a dud photo; something is fishy. Certainly a lot of the hands and arms are totally too large to the point that I really think the photo is messed up.
Overdone photoshop on them Sisters… really bad work…
