Magic the Gathering M14 Starts to Sliver Out
May 7, 2013 by dracs
The pre-release events for Dragon's Maze are now past and we wait eagerly for its release, but what comes next? Wizards have started showing off some new cards for the upcoming M14 block and it looks like the much feared Slivers are making a return.
I think I speak for all my fellow Magic players when I say "Eek!"
The great thing about Slivers is that they will continually grow in strength, supporting and boosting one another until the enemy is simply overwhelmed.
As always the artwork is excellent and these have made me really interested in what else we can expect to see in the M14 set.
Will you be celebrating or mourning the return of the Slivers?

Its awesome that they are bringing back slivers.
Heh I think I still have my old sliver deck up in the loft..
They are new to me
That groundshaker ain’t cheap but a bunch of other slivers with trample might not be very nice!
Oh, slivers. You never fail to make me nostalgic for M:tG. I preferred the old style of artwork for slivers though.
Good thing too, just found an old slither that gives indestructible to all slither.
We had an discussion with my friends and thought about how mtg has been going a little easier on aggro, well except boros and rahdos. There are alot of more control decks around and they dominate. maybe now well see the powerhouse aggro decks.
I must say I preferred the original sliver concept. The above look like some generic humanoid monsters, but the originals were ballsy in their concept as a fantasy monster, utterly alien, unfathomably weird and disturbing phallic in their utilitarian, fast-forward-the-evolution-and-feed-it-steroids anatomy. The above look just like a predator rip-off and call me grumpy, but like someone wanted to make them look cool to the MMO kids.
