Warmachine’s Convergence of Cyriss Are Upon Us
April 12, 2013 by brennon
Privateer Press have revealed the first wave of models for the Convergence of Cyriss for Warmachine! Check out the Battlegroup and Rulebook below along with a host of other miniatures...
First up we have the staple buys for anyone looking to get into a new faction. The rulebook contains all you need to get started with Cyriss along with a painting guide too! The Battlegroup (which comes in plastic I might add!) is obviously a great way to test out those newly learned skills.
And if you want to expand right out of the gate then you can get your hands on the Monitor, Inverter and Cipher for a bit more muscle. So far all these models are looking pretty special and I would imagine that the tables will be filled with these guys over the next few weeks.
Look out for it all very soon!
This is looking really good !
wow may have to pick up the battle box and book just to see how these guys play. 🙂

I think Privateer Press are going to target a key audience with this faction, the people who want to play Warmachine for the warjacks. I’ve been considering playing Warmachine for a while, but the fact most (feels like 90%) battles only feature 1 to 3 warjacks put me off.
I’m really hoping the focus bouncing mechanic that was previewed, will mean this will be the faction that runs warjacks first, infantry second.
there was a video up some time ago showing that the faction should be really focus efficent so big warjack armies could work well for these guys.

most factions have a jack caster or two e.g. i have a lot of jacks in my menoth force and i can run all of them in 35 points using Amon Ad Raza… hes an awesome model anyway so its all good
Could this be my next faction.
These guys look great. I want to see them in a non-metallic scheme though to really sell me on them, because I find painting metal to be rather dull.
I’m also keen to see some infantry — Cyriss has a lot of potential for cool-looking models.
Try NMM ! 😉
Any news on the release date?
There will be a prerelease at Lock and Load with a full release in the following months. The faction has a rather large launch so expect it to take a while for everything to be out.
I just saw that some will be released in July.
The book
battlebox
heavy jack kit
Aurora
clockwork angels
paint set
rumour has it, (and I think it has been confirmed) they will be out in July
Now, I’m not usually a fan of warmachine stuff, not that I think its ‘bad’ or anything, its just the aesthetic isnt for me., but I do like the look of these , not so much these warjack things, but the infantry I saw on the net somewhere, they have shields that look like they all interlock, very nice models.
Yeah, don’t know the name of them but it’s a nice visual touch. Handy reminder that they have the Shield Wall* ability, too. Actually my main gripe with some of the other factions’ units that have Shield Wall, it’s hard to see how they can get enough coverage for it. Look at the Khadoran Man-O-War Shocktroopers – compared to the suits they’re wearing, those shields are tiny.
*Can’t run that turn, but makes them harder to hurt while the unit’s in B2B with each other.
Yes… The ManoWar shields with a gun do look smallish. I would at least have given them a spike at the bottom to serve as support for aiming the gun.
The Menoth Paladins of the Wall have great shields, but there’s like, two of them…
My ticket to the Warmachine world!
Yet the bases seem to be kinda small for their leg positions?
Nice! I may have to pick these up
step 1 – buy battlegroup
step 2 – buy heavy warjack/vector kit
step 3 – buy magnets
step 4 – buy a lot of silver paint
and there goes my khador plans… ah well at least it’ll be easier to paint for me i guess
Cant wait!
They look really awesome and unique. Brass and chrome vectors inbound!
Feels like they read my mind a bit, a few years ago when I was looking at Warmachine stuff I remember saying how I’d probably play the game if they had some kind of steampunk robot faction…well lo and behold! I really love the art-deco style, some very creative designs in this – reminds me a bit of the film Metropolis as well! Might have to get into WM now 🙂
Convergence is more Clockpunk than Steampunk, though – every other faction (other than elves) power their ‘jacks with steam engines, Convergence use insanely-efficient clockworks.
Same basic cortex design, though (the artificial brain of a ‘jack).
Clockwork eh? Well, that’s even more awesome! Either way, I love the designs and it’s encouraged me to try this game out finally ^_^
Yeah, it’s what makes the faction unique (other than the whole ‘uploading souls into mechanical bodies’ thing, of course) – every other faction is Steampunk, Convergence is Clockpunk.
Maybe that’s why they’re going to war – the incessant ticking of all their clockwork mechanisms has finally driven them nuts. 😛
A cannon that fires rotary saw blades. Okay, I already like these guys.
Damn though, that’s a lot of drybrushing. I fear I will kill a few brushes dead trying to paint this faction.
Red and Gold sounds good, just like a certain super hero.
