Kensei Wanders Into The World Of Fantasy
March 30, 2013 by brennon
Kensei by Zenit Miniatures is going to be heading to the world of Fantasy with the help of IndieGoGo. Check out some of the art and sneak previews for this below...
As you can see there are some lovely beasties you could eventually be fighting with. A huge spider/praying mantis lady that could probably tear apart a whole load of Samurai on her own is a sure fire hit.
This should be hitting soon so watch out for it and check out more previews on the Kensei website.
Will you be pledging when the time comes?

So far Kensei has been a pure “historical” wargame but now it might seem they want to take the Bushido approach ? I don’t know if a really good idea to have two games with very similar universes, but that’s just my first impression.
I think fantasy Japanese is a broad enough church that it can fit more than Bushido, not that they were the first to do it.
They said right in the beginning in the rulebook that you can do both approaches if you want to. Fits me fine.
Good move in my view. Now I can play a classic historical game and a fantasy game depending on the mood.
Maybe the Fantasy creatures could be like a bolt-on expansion so you can have both historical and fantasy in the same rules set. :/
Funny, I was just skimming trough Kenseis and Bushidos range. Smart move to make fantasy part optional, I’ve been thinking it would be fun to dive into historicals for a change. Though if the models are nice… Who knows?
