Lovely start Romain. I really like the bright purple used on the knuckles/knees etc where white human skin would have a redish hue. Looking forward to part 2
Thanks !
This is just one of the way to paint Rackham-style, I hope to do many more.
great vid, thanks for showing us mere mortals how to improve our painting skills (I am determined to get out of the 3 colours and dip mentality). Just a quick question, why did you choose that model to show that colour range? Purple headed impaler? (giggles)
Thank you ! Your motivation will win half the battle !
I chose this troll quite simply because he was a good example of a monstrous model with lots of skin showing, and that he was available at the studio.
Looking forward to seeing the second part as well. The Warmachine and Hoard models are always good to watch been painted. There is usually alot of bulk to them and enough detail in the surfaces to clearly see what is going on.
Yes, the bulk was why I chose that miniature.
Thanks !
any chance of boosting the volume for the next one? the soundtrack is very quiet. excellent video as ever romain. very inspiring.
There were technical issues with one of the cameras, unfortunately… The problem will be corrected in further tutorials.
Sorry ! 🙁
Thank you for sticking to it anyway ! I’m glad it inspired you in spite of everything.
If you have a model from their Hybrid game…that would be great to see painted, I’ve got the game but have been waiting for my skills to improve before putting paint to those miniatures.
Sure, Rackham models were great… I have many of them lying around. That being said, I’d rather show the same technique on a model people can get their hands on more easily !
But these tutorials aren’t recipes only to be applied to one type of miniature. they’re meant as paths, methods and techniques to reflect upon, to improvise upon, and most of all to experiment with !
As for your skills, I’m sure you’ll be good enough in no time, if you’re not already there.
