The First Mini of Pyre Studios Is Ready to Join Your Collection
March 12, 2013 by dracs
We have been seeing this initial sculpt from Pyre Studios for a while, but now it is finally available for you to pre-order!
Funded thanks to IndieGoGo, this miniature is truly impressive, especially considering that it is the first miniature Pyre Studios have come out with.
The detail is excellent, with all sorts of characterful additions to the sculpt which really bring it to life, such as the small hatchet on his back. If this adventurer is a sign of things to come I personally cannot wait to see what else Pyre have in store for us.
Be sure to let us know what you think of this mini in the comments below
The only thing is… What is he reading?
I reckon it could be Dungeons and Dragons Player’s Handbook V.3
But I could be wrong.
Oh, and a nice sculpt btw
Looks great! Congratulations.
What type of sword is that? Nice detail, could be used as a pirate depending on how you paint him.
I think it is a double barrelled shotsword
or else a sword that becomes a pool cue.
Dun’alf bring tears to yer eyes when he puts your number two ball in the side pocket!
it’s an executioners blade with a sliding weight in the center to add momentum to the killing blow.
Makes sense now you said that and I found the concept art

Have done a bit of research and it seems that the weight was fixed at the end of the sword.
Normally the hilt would not be a basket type.
Always good to learn something new.
Thanks for the explanation @theunnableone, much appreciated
Good to see something a tad off the beaten track.
