Dark Hammer Miniatures Raise Their Undead Samurai
March 11, 2013 by brennon
Dark Hammer Miniatures have revealed a 3D render of their upcoming Undead Samurai miniature which you can check out below. It's certainly looking pretty good right now...
The horse and rider both look natural and full of detail. Each bone and plate of armour seems to have been looked at with care and attention. Let's just hope this transfers over onto the finished miniature!
This also hopefully points to some more miniatures in the future from Dark Hammer!
What do you make of this undead warrior?
I look at this and other companies like Malifaux, they’re using 3D renders the way they should be used. The unique sculpting of this is top notch and full of detail that shows the level of hard work that went into sculpting this.
Now compare it to some others, they use 3D renders like a template. Nothing more dull than simple ball joint moving to make models look new.
When I see things like this, it makes me wish I could do it as well (Dew eyed and all) 🙂
Thats great amount of detail that that 3D rendering has. If actual model has same amount of detail then its going to be awesome. Also making that undead samurai left handed is nice touch.
really like this
Always a pleasure to see some Asian styled models. It’s also very rare that you see a left-handed model nowadays. 🙂
Really like this model. As so you have all said, really fine detailing. Some Samurai models look cheap in comparison.
I am a bit concerned that they may be making these out of Finecast resin! If you look carefully you can see his head has melted and flopped down at a funny angle, and the horse has started to melt due to the camera flash! 😛 hehe
Oooh I nearly missed this just logged on in time.
