Mansions of Madness
February 9, 2011 by lloyd
Fantasy Flight Studio show of their new Mansions of Madness tile base game.
In the game, players take on on the role of investigators, as they work their way through creepy mansions, trying to solve mysteries in a world based upon the literary works of H.P. Lovecraft.
Now, I have no idea how the game plays, as it's only just released, but based on the video, it looks like it could be fun. Certainly the game seems to have the quality that we have come to expect from FFS. The artwork looks to be top notch. The tiles have an atmospheric air to them, which sits well with the assortment of cards and counters that are included with the game.
On the other hand, the miniatures look OK. They might not be worth painting up for your display cabinet, but they are more than good enough for a nights gaming... which is what they are for after all.
There's quite a number of miniatures included too, with a total of 24 monsters and a dozen or so types of player character, that's quite a range, for an initial release.
Check out the video above to see more or visit the Mansions of Madness page on the FFS site.

its like cludo x how to host a murder… i love it 🙂
Looks great – nice video too.
One worry might be – can you only play it 5 times before you run out of games/stories?
Anyone know?
Not a huge problem for me as it would be great to use for Call of C the rpb.
Looks awesome! Saw some of the content before, but the video was really nice. The minis looked very good. I will use them in Arkham Horror games. I hope the game doesn’t take as long as Arkham horror to play
Been looking at arkham horror – any good? How long does a game last?
It looks very good… Might be a good introduction to the CoC RPG for younger players, or a nice way to pass an evening when you don’t have a scenario planned. I’m concerned about the long-term story possibilities… Is the game still fun and are there still original stories that can possibly be played with the game after five, ten, fifteen games ?
These Fantasy Flight games do look lovely don’t they.. shame I can’t afford them 😉
looks good Love The cthulhu Mythos Looks like a good game to play.
Get them to send you guys (BoW) a sample and give it a try.. Put it on the livestream thing youve got going 🙂 Come on,you can have a beer, try and solve spookey riddles and give us “the faithfull” a laugh 😉
never played owt like this before. how would it fare with just 2 players?
This looks brilliant. I must get a copy at some point.
