New Dwarves Go Treasure Hunting With Scibor
February 11, 2013 by brennon
Scibor Miniatures have some more Dwarves on the horizon and they have a distinct feeling of 'Hobbit' about them. See what you think of these upcoming Dwarf Treasure Hunters...
See what I mean when I say they might have been somewhat inspired by another franchise out there? Regardless of that they are pretty fantastic looking miniatures and it doesn't take much for me to enjoy a Dwarf model!
Scibor's friends at UDock Creative Studio have also been busy with more conceptual artwork...
I can't wait to see how that Berserker turns out, even if it will begin life as a bust first. Here's hoping we see some full scale sculptures and indeed miniatures of these fellows. Also if you fancy taking part in a competition UDock are looking to make one of you into a Fighting Priest!

Don’t have a clue as to which franchise you mean Ben.
The dwarves look like a completely new line.
Do like good overall
They might be stepping on toes that they shouldn’t have. Warner bro’s has some pretty serious lawyers that have put many a man/woman out of business. Lets hope this wont happen though.
not sure which franchise either, perhaps it’s because I have only been in the Hobbit 22 year…. I mean Hobby 22 years. 😛
See what I did there? /Moonwalk hee hee /waves
Yes they do have a Hobbit flare to them. The good thing is there 28mm rather than GWs silly 25mm true scale that just makes them small and they probably cost us a fraction of the real deal GW line.
While there is nothing to say about the craftmanship or quallity of the minis them self – I will say try to have an original idea, not just variations over the same thema as everyone else out there.
One thing is piggybacking on Warhammer and the dwarfs there but with original sculps, but this to me is a step too far
OK I looked at a picture of the movie the Hobbit and the only real resemblance is in a few details like the fat one and the hat with the big flaps. But outside of that, the hair, beards, cloths all look different. The most telling difference is the body types. I never really noticed until now but the Hobbit makes the dwarves look almost human build and hight. Sicbor dwarves all look stubby and chubby.
Wow ! They really look good…
I’m always amazed at how Scibor completely “gets” the fantasy dwarf look !
