Munchkin Finally Enters The Digital Dungeon!
January 30, 2013 by brennon
Munchkin by Steve Jackson Games has always needed a virtual version so you could backstab your friends wherever you are. Thankfully that is now becoming a possibility as Tinderbox Entertainment are making an Xbox 360 version...
This sneaky peek arrived on the internet last night and shows a rather cool looking set up for this version of Munchkin. According to a quick Q&A sessions the game will feature just the original content but there is always a chance to add the expansions as DLC at a later date.
For those of you without an Xbox 360, Steve Jackson Games think it would be great to have it appear on other platforms but the 360 version is the one they are concentrating on now.
What do you think of this virtual version?

What do I think? Thank you God!
Here is the SJGames Twitter by the way if you want to view what else was said in terms of the Q&A…

As much as I like the idea of a console version. I am missing my 360 due to explosions and heat so I would very much like to see this appear on Steam soon after the Xbox production has finished!

but… but… my poor PS3… I wants it…!

i’d also like to see a PC version.
what would be great is a cross platform connectivity – Android users playing vers Xbox and so on, maybe event browser based 😀
Mac or PS3 please or I kill my mates cat with an axe of +3 choppiness!! 😀

Quite excited about it, but I am curious on how it will simulate the “cheating”.
@Steve Jackson Games,
The already exists an excellent platform to build a PC version on. It’s called Vassal, and it’s java based, easy to learn, typically drag/drop interface. I think there’s an old Russian module floating around, but an updated, full color, current, English version would be awesome.
just as i get back into playing munchkin i hear this 😀 can’t wait!
I’ll get it if it ever appears on PC but the card game will do for now, this is curious timing too as I’ve just played my first game this week!
Its funny, last month’s Xbox 360 mag had an article in it about computer games being turned into board games and Munchkin was mentioned as one they would like to see appear in video game form. It’s almost as if they knew…
Im really surprised that they have chosen home consoles. I would have prefered to see it on Vita and 3DS for local co-op play with mates, especially as both portables work with their respectibe home console big brothers so that you could also still get that expereince.
