As you may, or may not, have seen in this week's Weekender we had James from Mantic Games in the studio for a chat about all things DreadBall and we couldn't let him escape without playing a game.

Great to see some new faces!
I would like to see a game being played to get a better idea of the mechanics and how the game flows.
Chris over at Mantic did a couple of videos when the Kickstarter was running, so people could see how the game worked. They’re fairly dry but very informative – check ’em out 🙂

That said, if there’s enough interest in watching a full game being played, maybe Warren and the gang could sort something out… I’d be more than happy to oblige next time I’m in BoWland!
@lagoon83 Cheers I’ll be having a look later.
A live game would be great to judge the fun factor.
I must admit it’s not the type of game I would normally go for. I’m more of a traditional tabletop wargamer but the small play area does appeal and if it looks to be fun I won’t want to miss out.
Dreadball is not a different kettle of fish…
It’s a whole new ballgame! lol
Enjoyed the vid but agree with @Huscarle and would love to see the game in action.
Can I also echo that I would like to see the game played live.
Yup, this seems like a prime ‘live rounds’ candidate, with the benefit of being relatively easy to set up the camera angles before hand, more so than a game of 40k etc at any rate.
IIRC Darrell has a sheepskin coat. He can be Motty and do the commentary.
This a hundred times!
Another outing for Mr Jones then. Hopefully he’s reappearing with historicals next time (SAGA, *hinthint*).
Dreadball is great – got my copy from the KS and had lots of play over the last month… very straightforward and fast rules wise, but with lots of different choices for how you use your team it gives you lots of options… also quick to set up and even the wife is starting to remember all the rules(!)… 🙂
The whole game was taped. James and I wanted to do a sports cast over the top of it 🙂
Feeling was no one would want to hear an hour of us though – maybe we were wrong 🙂
Would love to do a whole match 🙂
Its a good game
