Kickstart A Race for Survival With Sprocket Games

Podcaster Michael Fox has started up a new kickstarter to bring us a "quick and nasty" card game of survival. Whatever you do in this game, Keep Running!

We've all heard the old adage that when being chased by a bear you don't have to outrun the bear, you simply have to outrun the person beside you (something I have tried to live my life by). Well now Sprocket Games is creating a card game based upon that very story.

The game sees between 3 to 8 players being chased by a bear, rolling a dice to determine how fast they are running from the ferocious predator.

Each of them will have a steadily diminishing hand of cards and must play one each turn. These cards can effect the dice rolls, allow you to draw more cards, or even attack the hands of the other players. Remember, if they fall behind than it's more likely you won't be the one ending up as bear fodder.

With simple mechanics, matched by a colourful and cartoony art style which manages to make the selfish sacrificing of your fellow runners a joyous activity for all, this definitely looks like a promising game to pick up.

Given its fast paced play style this could be one of those in-between games you might play with your gaming groups when you grow tired of those long winded dungeon crawling board games.
