Check out these latest products from Armorcast, Large Billowing Smoke Plumes. These would be prefect for battlefield terrain or even coming out of the wreckage of your destroyed tanks and buildings...
I like the non-realistic style, almost like an animated movie, but the realistic directional movement of the smoke. It's a good mix that allows you to paint something interesting and keep it viable on the battlefield if your a stickler for realism.
Do you think you'll be grabbing these?

I like little things like this for dioramas and even just for bases and such.
