One of our viewers has asked Darrell what he thinks about Salamander Space Marines on bikes. Not only does Darrell have an opinion (when does he not!), but he's knocked together some list building advice.

sorry guys, but hammer of wrath is at initiative step 10, making it a part of the fight subphase
also, pods in that vanilla marines book can take 10 models, so you can keep your full sternguard and put up to 2 power armored leaders in there, or 1 terminator leader
he obviously means 12 guys save you having to post again @coxey292
hahaha wow i totally messed that up huh?
I love bikes and use them constantly. Not a huge fan of Salamander-type lists built around twin-linked thingy, though. Pity that you didn’t share some actual bike ideas besides chatting about Sternguard, which also was, of course, very useful. Captain on bike with 2+/3++, S8 weapon (Fist/Hammer) could simply be one of the toughest and most damage dealing Space Marine characters you can take.
I believe I’ve sent some 1850 bike-oriented list. Would be great to hear your opinions on it.
Cheers
:44 seconds in and Darl blows his wad early with “all across the board” , his go-to superlative and pun of tabletop wargames everywhere! haha much luv Darl you know I’m kidding, all across the board I’m a fan all day on a 2+
Thanks coxey292 I did not make it clear enought. You need a unit of ten model to use the Combat tactic’s rule. Not nine plus a character
@darrell hes actually saying you could have your ten marines and vulkan then combat squad because drop pods can have 12 ride in them with codex marines… something my local space wolf player gets annoyed about!
here’s a salamanders bike list for ya: CAPTAIN ON BIKE 195 pts – artificer armour – storm shield – relic blade COMMAND SQUAD ON BIKES 235 pts – 2 flamers – 2 meltaguns – 2 melta bombs VULKAN HE’STAN 190 pts 7 STERNGUARD 210 pts – 3 combi-flamers – 4 combi-meltas DROP POD 35 pts 5-MAN BIKE SQUAD 200 pts – 2 flamers – multi-melta attack bike 5-MAN BIKE SQUAD 200 pts – 2 flamers – multi-melta attack bike 5-MAN BIKE SQUAD 200 pts – 2 flamers – multi-melta attack bike 5-MAN BIKE SQUAD 200 pts – 2 flamers –… Read more »
Darrell it’s only combat squads that any number under ten man squads don’t get
All non fearless SM units get combat tactics
Can we see Andy’s brother’s Salamander list?
Well, I kind of thought Bikes were a White Scars army. I thought Salamanders were heavy weapons oriented.
@servantofszarekh perhaps fluff wise, but as far as the game goes, any vanilla marine army can be a biker army as long as you have a captain on bike, wich, when kitted out properly, is better than kahn imo…he was alright in 5th, but now with the new rules, he’s nothing special…captains do the same job, only better.
I’m reading Tome of Fire right now, and im afraid to spoil it but Vulkan was actually pronounce Vul’ Khan which explains the biker Salamander combination. Which is a pretty kick butt army.
