The Chaos Space Marines get access to a lot of named characters and with the change to Elite for many of the previous Chaos staples, how do the HQ choices influence your choice of army?

Inferno Bolts in the CSM codex are AP3
3 full squads of Thousends sons with Ahriman infultrating then is scary. they are slow and purposful but damn thats scary since thousend suns have inferno bolts
Huron Blackheart is a Red Corsair.
Sorry, I had to. My name and all.
Typhus has t5 so he has the +5 invuln and the +5 FNP. thats a 66% change (if im doing ym math right) of ignoring a power fist sargent.
While you’re “looking at the rest of the book” you might dwell a bit more on themed armies. This is effectively 5 codexes in one, and I know you like the idea of mix n match, but lots of people will want a (slightly more fluffy) themed army.
Themed armies aren’t just slightly more fluffy, they’re probably slightly more effective, especially once(though I suppose technically its “if”…) the FAQ confirms Typhus’ zombies are allowed to have more than 10 zombies, sure they might not have guns, but dammit, they’re zombies!
……. PS …..
excellent ‘week’, guys, but dont stop there… a live/recorded battle perhaps?
A live rounds show with the new codex would be appreciated !
Great week guys, i have really enjoyed it. Keep up the excellent job you are all doing.
PS
is that a rat in the loo?
always looked kind of like a cat to me
Pretty sure with Ahriman that his staff allows him to cast multiple witchfire spells but not the same spell over and over again.
I would convert that Daemon Prince to a Khorne Blood Thirster greater daemon using bits found on a certain auction site – a beastmen Ghorgon head/horns and/or body/arm braces would work well or perhaps the head/bits of a juggernaut. Blood Thirsters eat Long Fangs for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I would convert a daemon prince into a spawn as they are worth their points more. Also, I have a bloobthirster and it would be a bit pointless. You could just leave him the same and hope it would be introduced through the boon table.
Abaddon has all marks, so he also has Mark of Khorne which gives him +2 Attacks on the charge (and counter assault) plus his two weapons are both special weapons and that adds up to another additional attack. This means with Drachnyen he is at 7 + W6 attacks on the charge and if he rolls a 1 he does not loose all attacks, but is still at 7 (with WS1 of course, but still better than before, where he lost all attacks). I honestly think he is better than before (also considering that now you can play him “save”… Read more »
The Lord can’t become a spawn or a Daemon Prince due the the Boon of Mutation, as the armory says to re-roll spawnhood and dark apothosies
The Boon of Mutation re-roll only applies to the Gift of Mutation. So when say Abaddon kills that pitiful sergeant Abaddon CAN become a spawn.
Some of the best combinations Ive seen and played are Ahriman for the number of psychic powers; he has the potential of making an invisible daemon prince with the black mace can just dessimate units. Lucius is good he beats lileth most of the time, he might struggle if he gets taken down by a grey knight champion whose job is to commit suicide against characters like that.
