Impact Miniatures’ Chibi Dungeon Adventure Kicks Off
September 28, 2012 by brennon
The Impact Miniatures Chibi Dungeon Adventurers Kickstarter has finally been accepted and is now running. It's pretty much what we expected it to be! Check out the art once again below...
Carrying the influence from the old Dungeons & Dragons cartoon these should evoke some old nostalgic memories from a fair few of us. You can also add some rather cool looking dice to your various pledges.
There are of course stretch goals which look to creating the Dungeon Master from the cartoon as well as added monsters, the unicorn and more. Is this going to be a Kickstarter that you will get behind?
What do you make of this so far?
Hmm, this looked like suck a good kickstarter until I had it confirmed that as the Stretch Goal unlock you’ll need to top off your pledge. I think they’ve tried to simplify this too much, there doesn’t seem to be any incentive to back this as it’s simply a preorder service with no real rewards just more things to buy.

Just done the maths, assuming every extra sculpt is available as type one, you’d need to top up by $125 fromt he top $30 pledge just to get all 30 sculpts, plus an extra $15 for the dice. I know they have to make money and I wish them every success but this has just put me right off.
If my maths is correct 125/30 = $4.20 per mini rounding up
That would include the Type 2 figures going for $8 each in the rewards.
£2.60 at current exchange rates per model doesn’t sound so bad
darkdreams … the incentive is that the figures are planned to cost more than $5 each when they are in our retail store. So the real reward is getting them below retail to start with. We are considering other incentives beyond a discount on the figures to help backers that would need more see more value to the KickStarter. No promises on what is going to happen with this one but if you look our Kickstarters have a history of adding new ideas on the fly as the project continues and suggestions are made.
Pretty interested in this one, will be keeping an eye on it at any rate. I do enjoy the look of these chibi style minis, pretty different to what I’m usually accustomed to.
Impact miniatures, you have my money on this one. I just pledged for the basic set of six heroes 🙂 (gottahave’em).
