For HQs, and some squad leaders, I’ve been reading some very good things about a Lightning Claw and Powerfist combo. They’re both Specialist weapons, so they give the extra attack when paired together, and you choose which to use, so you can whack out loads of attacks at S8/AP2/I1, or S4/AP3/I(4/5). Captains and Chaplains get their 4++, so you don’t need a hand free for a Storm Shield.
It gives them a lot more flexibility than their special counterparts.
No FNP against powerfist, powerfist = intsant death.
You missed out the part about Corbulo being an awesome bullet catcher with his 3+ then 2+ FNP and how can you not rate the Death Company ??? a highly mobile squad that can number up to 30 models that can have hidden fists and axes, has FC, FNP and WS5 as standard… Has an upgrade character that allows them all to reroll hits and wounds on the charge, has relentless so the Fists can carry bolters as well and rage so they gain +2 attacks on the charge. Yeah some good things, although the changes to assaulting from transports and restrictions to units in reserve mean previous army builds will have to change a bit.
Agree Death Company is much better now!
