Anti-Matter Preview the Deep Wars Rules

Deep Wars has been a very hotly anticipated game from Anti-Matter Games, so when they showed off a preview of their rules it was well worth dipping into. Check it out HERE...

I like that it is based on the SoBH core, which is a system I enjoy.
I’ve never used it before. What do you enjoy about it?
Simplicity of the mechanic mainly. It is easy to pick up and just have fun with. Deep Waters looks to have added some elements like dragging and allowing for the underwater realms. Measuring for movements based on three sticks works imho. The only odd thing is that ranged weapons have the same values as movement. That helps stop sides just hanging back being shooty. But the abstract aspect will possibly have more realism for underwater combat. I always prefer alternating turns within a round. But in SoBH you role up to 3 dice based on a character’s Quality. By the way… I received my Kickstarter reward minis today. The sculpts are so fantastic that even without the game, they’re worth buying !
