Get Ready for War! Dropzone Commander Launches
July 26, 2012 by brennon
All of you lucky souls who have placed your pre-orders and been wishing for your armies to appear will now be happy. Dropzone Commander from Hawk Wargames has officially launched with not just all the models but rules and plenty of other downloads too.
The glossy full colour Rulebook is already out there on the webstore so make sure to pick it up along with your models. It certainly looks the part and that cover art is pretty amazing. But to help you along with your projects Hawk Wargames are also supplying you with a few downloads to keep you going...
First up is a range of Downloadable Buildings to start crafting your city scape. You can grab these from the website, download them to your home computer and print them off at your leisure. With buildings being quite important in the game I'd say that's a grand gesture from the folks at Hawk Wargames.
There is also a wealth of other Downloads including cheat sheets (quick reference sheets) and even carriage tokens so you can tell whats inside what when the battle is getting hectic.
Also if you're interested in finding out more from the man himself then there is going to be a Facebook Live Chat on August 2nd 2012!
The only question that really remains is what force have you chosen, and when are you going to head down to your local gaming store (miniatures should be on the shelves in early August) to pick up some models!
Don't forget there is also a great Progress Log (Plog) here on Beasts of War where a few dioramas for the miniatures have been created.
So have you been waiting patiently or irritably for your Dropzone Commander models?

Preordered a PHR army awhile back…since I live in the US I’m still waiting for my shipment to arrive….cannot wait! There is a PHR unboxing and construction video on youtube already…for the most part the resin/construction looks great save one vehicle that gave the video host a little bit of trouble.
But the quality and the aesthetics are what we were hoping for…amazing. Now I just need someone to review the rules already! Come on people!
I’ve uploaded a new video today. A few other problems came up but nothing a little bit of milliput couldn’t fix. Still haven’t quite got the hang of using magnets properly but they do the job. I need to wait for the replacement part to arrive and for the milliput to set before I can start painting these but I’m looking forward to it.
Will we see a DzC week here on BoW?
Yes that is a fantastic idea! I back you @wildchevy for president!
Hey guys, I think we’d all be happy if a DzC week took place! Pleaseeeeee.
Agreed..BoW should definitely have a DZC week, or atleast a full on series of intro vids. This game, above all others, deserves the good exposure…we need..I neeeed….this game to take off…seriously, this game is my dream game. If i could invent a minis game, this is exactly what it would be.
liking the pdf’s
I finally got my hands on some minis and the rulebook and it does indeed all look rather nice. The rule book is excellent in fact…I hear some typos may need to be ferreted out but lovely full colour stuff. Minis seem very robust. I’m still irritated that its not either 6 or 15mm but I may be prepared to forgive it that.
So I feel if I can sell of a load of stuff then I may be able to find room/budget for this game
