Today Sam and Darrell have a look in to a question asking if assault marines can jump over your opponent's models to get to a target.

eh… Can Assault Marines Jump Over Enemy Models | Daily Tips
Where did they try to jump over enemy models in this video 😀
Yeah, the original question wasn’t answered!!
In the movement phase the SM could jump over the Fire Warriors and then charge the suits – presuming there’s a big enough gap in between the 2 tau units.
i dont think so, you can’t be within one inch of an enemy model when your moving
In response to @dignity page 52 of mini rulebook says ‘when using jump pack, they can move over all other models and all terrain freely.
yes so long as they dont land within that one inch
I kind of missed that part too.
Space marine luch discussion. Good job guys.
the question wasn’t could the marines jump over the fire warriors. it was could they go into combat with them but not fight. That would mean they could basically use them as a shield in the next tau turn, whereas if they fought them and beat them they would be at the mercy of the battlesuits firepower.
BoW Sam
its ov just a misake guys
dont put to much thought into it.
Urm, not what the title says it is but still.
To Cornflake, that isn’t Cheesy, thats stupidity, its listed in the main book there is no going against it, if you did that in any Games Workshop or any tournament you would be kicked out on your arse.
Sam has a dirty mouth…….
I only clicked this because I thought there was a chick in it 😛
i really wish people would stop saying that
You looked rather fetching sam mate 😉
BUHAHAHAHA Great Video guys!!
yes Please have Sam on with Darrel! It just makes it so much better because it amkes it much better and Darrel can have a side-kick!
Thanks for the replay. Im new to this hobby and still dont have the overview over all the rules. I haven’t thought, that this was that clear. I wont try this in future.
But could I still place my models in the movement phase in that way, that just one or two models are able to enter CC? To increase the chance, that the CC would take more than one turn.
Unfortunately not as you have to move all models into base to base that can reach and the rest must attempt to get within 2″ after that the defenders react and get 6″s to do so.
yeah basically in CC you’re compelled to get as many of your guys into the assault as possible, even if you’d rather prolong or stay out of it. If you think about it they’re unlikely to abandon their mates to the enemy when they’re so close.
Was thinking the same thing. I reckon you can jump over the fire warriors, but obviously if you assault them you have to fight. I suppose its the same as choosing not to take a save, or shooting yourself, or shooting a tree, etc. An interesting point thats come up with me however; can you choose to shoot some of your chaps in a squad but not all of them? If theres 10 enemies, and you want to whittle them down a bit but not kill them (so you can still charge them before they all die), can you shoot… Read more »
Well, Darrell´s vids have always same number of lovers and haters so…
The question was not answered, nice vid nevertheless.
Could he not have one guy 6 inches one guy 8 inches and the rest of the team 9 ore more inches away from the Enemy unit so only 2 guys are in combat?
