Sensational Shaolin & Cool New INFINITY Models for June 2012
June 28, 2012 by dignity
It's time for the guys over at Infinity to send out another round of sensational miniatures and this month sees the Shaolin Monks get a brand new look, along with a feisty female for the Nomads and sinister character for the Combined Army.
This heavy infantry soldier from the Bakunin Jurisdictional Command comes with a Spitfire, a Multispectral Visor Lv1 and some surprises that are going to blow you away.
While the Sheskiin has a Nanopulser and DA (double action) close combat weapon. This is first named character for the Combined Army and I'm sure she will have all the abilities you need to lay the alien smack down on your opponent.
Also this month, The Hassassin Muyib fire team from Haqqislam, becomes even more deadly with a Heavy Rocket Launcher!
... and the most useful weapon option for Ariadna's, Métro fire team... the Heavy Machine Gun!
We're pretty sure this miniature will probably become the spearhead of the line infantry team in your French themed army.
So guys... which faction do you play and which of these do you fancy?
There seems to be no end to great Infinity models and thats the way I like it.
The monks are great, but that last one the ariadna guy, is just brilliant.
I’ve never seen those before. the hooded style ones, but heck would they make great House Cawdor for Necromunda as much as they are great for Infinity itself/
I love models I can use in more than one game.
I really don’t know how CB keep doing this.. sure, the Combined Army and Aleph armies aren’t really my thing aesthetically but they never fail to produce excellent, stylised miniatures. I’m also loving the new Metro mini as it has a great “Urban Resistance” look that would be perfect for a modern day RPG.
As for the Riot Grrl mini, it’s pretty crazy, but in the same way that most of the Nomad models are and I love them for it. I think she needs a breast plate or something, though. That body suit looks a bit.. er.. Giger-esque!
at first I dismissed the Ariadna because I thought the other factions look better, but with models like the ‘roadside picnic’ guy above I think I have found my new faction
Thumbs up for the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. inspiration reference! 🙂
Why hasn’t BoW been doing any Infinity stuff other than showing the new items? What happened to doing Battle Reports? Yes there’s painting a few figs but I can’t even see those because I’m not a backstager. Not even discussions on new figs and how they will work, or tactics, the new book? etc.
There’s been How to Plays on the end of On the Table videos for a while now if you want a bit of a refresher on playing the game. Also, BatReps take a lot of time to plan out but watch this space for more Infinity 😉
BoW Ben
The How To Plays are not even done by BoW. Other than the voice over there’s not much done. Also BoW doesn’t have to do BatReps but at least a few simple discussions on the the troops each month or something like that. Instead we get Darrell and his stupid Space Marine crud over and over again. How about a 10min thing on how to use ARO effectively, or what troops you want to be aggressive with and which ones you want to keep back. And please no Darrell. You can tell he doesn’t care about any other games than… Read more »
@ celestialdragonking, Weeelll…
I have it on good authority that you will be very pleased soon, possibly at the start of August.
Would you like to know more ?… Stay tuned !
So much awesome…all the little cool details CB minis have really show a commitment from the sculptors. I like the Riot Grrl’s muscle-style body suit, the pattern reminds me of the ‘dream interface’ suit Jennifer Lopez wore in the film ‘The Cell’. The HMG Metro has an Assassin’s Creed/Prototype style hood which adds some menace to what is otherwise a grunt (but in sculpt quality terms, there are no grunts in Infinity) and the Shaolin Monks have the appeal of being a whole squad of dynamically posed Yul Brynners. 😉 Best of all for me though…Star Wars has come to… Read more »
Shaolin Monks coming to a table top near me soon.
They’re all pretty damn cool especially the Ariadna hoodie
I absolutely adore how mr. Giraldez complements the level of sculpted detail with his painting. I mean, who paints the jacket elbows muddy/dirty in 28mm!? 😀
I’m so happy that the monks are remade as they where some of the best models when the game first came out and where starting to look a bit aged to the rest of the line.
