Face off With the New Hordes Two-Player Battle Box
June 8, 2012 by brennon
If you're looking to get into Hordes, possibly inspired by our latest unboxings of the Starter Sets, then how about checking out the Hordes Two-Player Battle Box from Privateer Press?
The kit contains two sides for you and a friend to battle with. The Legion of Everblight and the Circle Orboros.
All the models come in plastic with Stat Cards, Rules, Dice and a Ruler for you to get going right away in the world of Hordes. If you were going to take up playing Hordes this must be a great way to get into it.
The real question is which side do you pick?
Is this a great match-up for a Hordes Battle Box?
That is awesome, I was thinking of Circle+Legion being great for a 2p box set….wibble
issue is do I really need 2 more Hordes armies??
yes… yes you do… like everyone else XD
Gotta say I may get this for my girlfriend’s legion. Shredders are always fun, and she doesn’t have anything else there either.
May see about getting my local Circle player if he’s interested in this as well.
Thats one awesome starter box. I mean Circle (faction that I am going to start) and Legion (one of best factions in game if not best faction) in same box. With this I might start both factions.
Finally! Now both PP main games have their ‘you and a buddy’ way in. Somehow I would have expected Trollbloods as one of the factions given the relative ‘good guy’ feel they have compared to something like Skorne plus I think they have links to Cygnar, but I expected Cygnar to be one of the Warmachine starter factions too, so what do I know? 😉 Good to see this set, especially with plastic figs making assembly easier. The savings on buying the figs individually should be sweet too.
I actually like this idea. At last a real starter box from another company. Now I have to find a way of working around the clock to afford all the great games coming out to challenge GW. :S
This is a great deal! I’ll confess that I never thought I’d see the day Hordes gets a 2 player box set. I guess I better have more faith in the guys over at PP. I might get into them factions now.
Release date?
I would be so tempted to get this if I could afford another hobby, I really love the look of the Legion of Everblight.
I’m excited for this one. Now to find a person at the LFGS to take the everblight half of the box.
This looks like a huge boon for Circle players. The skinwalkers alone are practically worth the price of the whole box at least at the price of the metal skinwalkers currently available for sale separately. When the plastic skinwalkers are made available separately the total value here may decrease a bit, but if you’re a starting Circle player, this box is a screaming deal. Even if you were to literally throw the other faction away, it would still be a bargain. Seeing as you’d more likely sell the second faction on ebay, this set is pure gravy.
This is confirmed as a September release.
Hmm September may be the time to start my warmahordes hobby
damn, september might be too long for me to wait for…. though I could start with some other pieces that I wanted to get. Mohsar here I come!
That could not be more perfect, me and my brother were both thinking about making a secondary horde race, him Legion, me Circle.
Written in Stars.
Kinda relieved it gets released in September. Gives me a chance to scrape some pennies together for this.
imo i dont think its a good matchup for a starter… perhaps legion v trollbloods or trollbloods v skorne. legion would eat their way thru circle in this starter
This sure ain’t making it easy for me to stay away from another system.
how many points are those armies?
Think they are about 20pts each.
While my gators could use some reinforcements, this box looks too good to miss. Great value with loads of superb minis, the skinwalkers stand out for me. Hope I haven’t been tempted by more kickstarters by September so there’s some cash left.
why cant it come out now :< i might have to buy the two starter sets for circle and everblight now then use this as a expansion cause damn it im impaciant
