Taban’s Troll Roars into Life

Taban Miniatures showed off the concept art for this Troll a while back, but here it finally is! Check out this rather impressive looking Snow Troll...
This Troll is a resin miniature which will be restricted to only 300 pieces! He also stands at a mighty 70mm as you can see, so makes a perfect centrepiece model for an army.
I wonder how many adventurers have fallen to his axe?
Will you be picking up this Snowbound Troll?
He’s just like the artwork:

The features have been transferred perfectly – he’s got that same brutal character in his face and I really like the armour and weapon detail, especially the realistic appearance of flint for that huge blade. The pose works too as it’s a sort of loping gait that conveys the weight of troll and axe – this is a lovely looking model.
After looking at the concept art it reminded me of confrontation. As I recall they had a line of Tibetan looking Mountain Orcs and this big guy could easily fit right into them.
Careful with that axe Eugene.
My only (very minor quibble) is that a lot of miniatures hold axes etc half way up the shaft which I think looks odd.
Eugene would look better imho if the left hand was behind the body holding the axe near the end of the shaft. It would just look like the arms have more freedom to swing that blade.
Thats one well sculpted nasty looking troll. Axe handle is rather unconventional becouse its not streight.
