Tobsen77’s Own Take on Steam Boat Willy
May 23, 2012 by dracs
Tobsen77 have a new nautical addition to their selection of Steampunk vehicles, the one man steam powered paddler.
Personally I find it hard to think of uses for this, but you have to admit that the miniature has a certain charm to it. I love the idea of a fleet of these one man boats heading out to do battle with the enemy.
If you haven't already seen some of Tobsen77's eclectic range of steampunk miniatures then check out these other vehicles available from them.
Might you sue any of these to populate your worlds of Victorian steampunk? Can you think of a scenario for the paddler?
Interesting models – not gritty and realistic but still very cool, in fact almost cute, like the cartoon version of steampunk.
I’m not sure how well the Paddler would fit in with steampunk skirmish – you’d need a river close to the action so it could use that gun which might be too easy to avoid – but if you like Spartan’s game systems you could remove the gunner and cover the seat so it would work in Uncharted Seas/Dystopian Wars as an Iron Dwarves/FSA ship.
Bring the fun back to park paddleboating!
That’s J5 from Blankman!

Those are rather nice but I think that Monowheel is kinda clever idea.
I like the satan’s tracked robot, very nice model & very retro. Good for those pulp sci-fi skirmish games. Whilst I agree that the others are a bit on the cutsie side, a more practical size up would prohibitively cost it up too much.
Just looked at the site – beautiful pulp sci-fi ships and miniatures. I’m going to have to figure a way to buy these without the wifie finding out….
