Spellcrow Disturb the Demon of the Woods

Another new model on the way from Spellcrow who are firmly up there as a favourite miniatures company. Check out their Demon of the Woods...
Loving the definition of the muscles, as well as the gnarled horns and growths across his body. Rather than painting him up in the regular blazing colours of the demon, like reds and blues I would get him done in the woodland colours. Lots of mixed browns and greens to make him look like he as grown from the forest itself.
What do you make of this demonic dweller in the woods?
Looks like it could have stepped out of one of Paul Bonner’s illustrations; this immensely powerful yet serene beast …
I think greens and browns are a great colour scheme for this, particularly with the almost reptilian facial style and teeth. You could do the horns in mottled browns to look like gnarled bark. It could work in red though, perhaps by painting the vine-like growths as pulsing bluish veins or in metallics for the look of ornate jewellery welded to the flesh.
No matter what colour, it’s a great sculpt though.
What comes to mind is the Drune from Confrontation. They had big beastie guys called Former Fiends
I think you mean Formor Fiend 🙂
Yes thats the guys it looks like.
Or indeed ‘former’, if you consider their OOP status, har har, …
someone shoot me …
Looks like something from a Del Toro movie. I rather like it.
